Takamine has the best sounding plugged in acoustic pickup system hands down.
@timbov12312 жыл бұрын
I just bought one of these and it sounds incredible. Like an HD-28 but with the ability to plug in and sound even better. I have a D-28, HD-28 and one of these and its the best all around guitar for performing live. I also own the Mahogany (350) version of this and listed the 360 on ebay. Just search Takamine Herringbone dreadnaught. Someone is going to get a great deal on it!

I have a "Tak" TC132sc Black w/Cool Tube Preamp on the way (being shipped to me). I've wanted one for many years and decided to spring for it. I presently have a 1976 Yamaha Classical G-90-1 made in Taiwan. Is made in Taiwan bad? Not in this case, the sound of the old Yamaha is truly amazing, the neck is still perfectly straight, and everything about it is great! I hope the Tak measures up... Ill keep you posted (and no, Yamaha did not pay me to say this).

Anybody know the name of the tune he's playing in this video? I'm assuming it might just be something he's making up, but I'd love to learn how to play it.

So what model is this?
@TheBanjoGeezer13 жыл бұрын
Whatever, A friend of mine bought a Tak EF-350 (Hi Susan!) in the day and I thought it rocked even thought I was pretty much a novice. Today, my Martin D-18 is a sound I cannot convey to an audience. One must play it.

yes i tottally agree the trouble is with living in the uk there arnt many places if any that you can go to a store and play more than one of the same model likethe hummingbird theres no way stores keep more than one you are lucky to find one of a certain model but going on sound my tak to my ears is far better than the bird i cant comment on martin as ive only ever played one and was more gibson than martin but for the money the tks are outstanding

I play a TF360SBG...it sounds great. Problem is, the action is a bit high making it a little hard to play. I lower the action and the nature of the guitar change in the way it plays and sounds. Not better or worse, just different. None the less, it has been my go to guitar when it comes to recording. I also found that Elixer strings seem to sound best with this guitar. Martin SP LIfespans sound worst. Even though I use them exclusively on my D18 and 28. Go figure.

@pleic well said and so are alot of so called high end guitars ie gibson my cheap takamine gs330s solid cedar sounds way better than my gibson hummingbird

Takamine TF360SBG - 'SBG?' = Sounds Bloody Good
@robinspat9 жыл бұрын
Mine is from Japan ESN10C - be it Taiwan or Korean... doesn't really matter as it's a cheap mass produced beater - BUT make sure your guitar has a SOLID top, such as Spruce / Cedar. Yes, it is nice to have a solid back like mine, makes it sound a bit warmer, but not necessary. It is even nicer to have an all solid wood guitar, if the humidity of your country is not so bad that it will damage your guitar, unless you protect it with dehumidifier. DO Please make sure your neck is straight! Has a double truss rod in the neck. Make sure your frets are dressed (filed even on top or smooth at the edges. Do not do this, fretwork, yourself - if you are new to guitar maintainance, use a luthier - they use special tools). TIP Buy better machine heads, if the cheap one's don't have tuning accuracy / stability. When you get better at playing buy a better guitar. You can always use this one for slide / bottle neck and slap, mount, an LR Baggs M1 pick-up on it. Use it as a beater for the beach / camping / beer campfire, festivals... and the GS Mini if you get a good one - bought used (hunt for the right one play as many as you can 20 or 30 of them even - great bang for £ $ - wow / Martin Dread Junior sounds brilliant, true Martin sound for such tiny money compared to their - I shall not spend that much stupid money on one - Junior for such little money, bargain - one day!! It's about having different voiced instruments not crazy £ $ values - love the Ami parlour too! Lastly, I love my D'addario EXP26 strings - the new NY Steel silver logo ones... what a difference they make to my sound and playing and they last forever... have fun playing - get better each day, learn something new, always pick up your guitar for at least 10 minutes each day even if you have the flu ;)

I wonder if Brad was paid by Takamine to talk positively about their product? If so, this may influence greatly what he says. For example, what he hasys may be generic details that could be said about many other instruments.

The thing to remember is that in spite of all the "Oh,my Martin will be worth such and such in 20 yrs" Uh,no,,,it wont. Acoustic guitars are not made to last forever.Play any of them 6- 8 hrs a day and you will wear them out.Not a knock on Martin or Gibson of any other guitar. I've went thru my share,just played to death.But loved every one of them. Just my 2 cents
@TheLeerain13 жыл бұрын
@brandonch25 maybe butwhats the point in buying a high end martin and not wanting to play it in fear of scratchingetc also i bought a gibson hummingbird true vintage just under £2000.00 and to be honest yeah it was nice guitar but no way worth that and played next to my takamine g511ss the tak was way better sounding ie tone,loudness, warmth more base. The really high end stuff isnt worth that amount yeah they are nice but so are other guitars

Well, this is an ad. No matter how much I love a guitar, if they ask me to do an ad for it, they better pay me, because I wouldn't ever do it for free, and I guess Brad wouldn't either.

I don't care how much takamine paid Brad to endorse this guitar. I am sure that this guitar is not your average factory model it was likely 1 great guitar out of a thousand and was set up with him in mind. I traded for one to help a friend and I rate it one grade above the First Act guitars that Wal-Mart sells. Save your money for a real guitar!
