I have one of these and it is a great sounding guitar and was shocked that Glenn signed every single one of these. So sad we lost him. He was a great talent and is greatly missed. Rest in peace, Glenn and thank you for the great music you brought us in all these years.

Thanks for your review and demonstration of the GF Takamine! Your Talent and comprehensive overview and description are very much appreciated. I especially enjoyed your relaxed, every-person approach to this video. My first "expensive" A/E guitar was a Takamine I bought in 1990 and I loved it! I had not heard of this model until today and I am glad I stumbled upon it! I am in the market for a new A/E and this one is now number 1 on my list! Thanks again!

This is a fine instrument. I have owned numerous (Japanese-build) Takamine guitars, and this is the best one thus far. Very even tonal balance, with just enough volume and "boom" to make it a great un-plugged instrument. Beware, the necks on these are a bit chunkier than some of Takamine's other dreads, particularly the Keystone, which plays like an electric! The newer models feature solid wood sides, as well as backs and tops. This is a wonderful work guitar, and I play six shows a week!

I bought one of these guitars and it is a great guitar. Everything the reviewer says is true. The sound is fantastic, and it is soooo easy to tune! It is also robust enough to play frequently and take a bit of punishmment. (not that I WOULD punish it). Quite simply, Its a beauty!!!! Thanks Glenn!

The Frey guitar is actually based on his FP360S, not an EP360S. Pete Townsend and David Bowie played them too. I've owned an original FP360S for 18 years now, it's a 1993. The one thing I want to say is it's really a nice guitar, and mine has aged beautifully both cosmetically (the top is a yellow/amber shade now) and tone-wise. It used to sound brighter and a little boxed, but these days it is a lot more mellow and bassy, it sounds almost like a D28. I string it with Ernie Ball Earthwood 11s.

The lack of some low end is not an issue for me. Pretty much every time I have recorded acoustics I wind up rolling off some bottom.

Very bright sounding instrument; a good guitar and a true workhorse, but not for everyone. Reminds me a bit of Martin D-28, but without the sweetness and bass response of the Martin. Good build quality, but the finish is a bit sketchy and the weight is exceptionally heavy, even for an acoustic-electric. This guitar has laminated sides, so if you're one of those "gotta have all wood" players then you might want to pass. My guess is you wouldn't even be looking at this review if you were! I like it pretty well, although I have found that despite its reliability, it is not the best guitar for a solo performer, as it lacks siginificent bottom end fullness. Plugged in, the CT4BII is a very sensitive, reliable, and audibly pleasing pickup system. I like this instrument far better than my Keystone 341C (Springsteen, Bon Jovi) guitar. The neck is a bit deeper than some of Takamine guitars, so I would suggest trying one, and if buying sight-unseen, make certain that you can return it if the neck is too much like a baseball bat. The matte finish on the neck is a godsend. I HATE glossy necks! The tuners are smooth and accurate. I don't care for the black pick guard, but a dalmatian or tortoise could be added later w/o much trouble, making this a gorgeous instrument. The fret finish work is good for the price, but a bit sharp around the edges, not polished terribly well. I am a left-handed player without many choices in this price range, and this was a great buy at $1200.00 brand new. Naturally, I would rather be playing a Collings CJ, but at $4650, it's not a very good guitar for playing bar gigs and parties! By the numbers, I would rate mine a solid 8. The downside being the weaker bass when played acoustically, and the so-so top finish.
