I don't mind the transition to shorter match-by-match videos, but I would definitely still want a KZbin-based repository of the VODs to still be accessible like the previous style, even if it means opening a separate VOD channel (so viewers who aren't interested in one of the two types don't drag down channel analytics by only consuming 1 type on a channel that uploads both) that I can peruse while his primary channel content gets edited down more. Much of Sean's stream is the discussion of ideas that he usually gets super-sidetracked on, so he will never raise and conclude a point within the course of say a singular match. It leaves some of his stuff lacking context if you don't have that between-match-chatting and I always like to hear his debates with his chat. I enjoy watching the streams over the course of a couple of days at my own pace (especially since I can't make them Live), but the experience of doing VODs on Twitch leaves much to be desired for me. Mechabellum is one of the more recent things that I've been actively catching up on viewing every single VOD on the channel for, so I'd be quite sad if I have to start scraping his Twitch channel for VODs myself.

You said "Portable Shield" when you chose it. Out loud. Your mouth and hands processed the entire choice without bothering your brain.

As a longtime viewer of Day9, I tend to enjoy the long multihour vods because I play them out over several days while I do other tasks. I can't usually tune in for his streams. I feel like I'll miss out on matches if I'm only getting 30 minute clips of the stream. But I can see how having tighter clips of the juicy stuff could be better for the channel overall.

While I agree, there was a lot of losses the last few streams I tuned in, so I can understand why there was a decision to cut those parts.

really enjoying these more 30-40 minute videos. I know you usually go into games with the i-will-focus-on-this-one-thing mentality, but to actually *know* which mindset that is for the video helps a lot and makes me watch to the end instead of just 1/12th of a part of a regular stream, like most of your other videos. Also, Mechabellum is rad

I'm a sometimes viewer who was frequently turned off by 3 hour long vids with "mechabellum part 34" type titles. The descriptive title and tractable length got me to click on this and the next one. Thumbs up

Yeah, I fully agree with this. Small, bitesized chunks of 10 - 25mins get my attention far easier than a 2hr Vod, which feels like a commitment... and I hate commitments!!!

lol i'm new to this game but not to strategy games. I have been rolling people for my placement matches because they didnt know what to do on a strong right or left side. the trick to this is having delaying units. I usually go with tanks. they make great front liners once upgraded tech and levels. they dont need to win, just delay them long enough to punch your way through to their first tower and then clean up after.

Why are these one game? Where's the full vid? It's cool if you want to do shorter vids, but please post the full ep as well.

I agree with andreas about the titles. I think this might make them get more views in the short term but destroy the views you get in medium and long term. Tbf, I think both models are viable, but all your other show qualities point towards wanting medium and long term view sustainability (not talking about politics or current events, for example)

The title describes what the video contains. Are we watching the same thing?

TBH I don't see why this would hurt viewership on the long term. It's a shorter video, which definitely isn't short for youtube standards, and the title states what happens in the game. I don't see this as click baitey at all.

90% of a videos revenue is gained during the first 24 Hours (citation needed) You can always change the titles later. like LTT does.

Trying not to make them too "clickbait-ey", rather just more interesting and descriptive. Instead of just "Mechabellum P17". Thanks for the feedback!

I like them more than "part 17" or whatever. At this point it's just you playing the game. I like the title of the video talking about that days "strategy" or whatever

@@day9tv for what it's worth, i generally enjoy your content but rarely watch videos unless i need something on the side, but this has been the first one in a long time that made me intentionally click it to actively watch and i enjoyed it. for more context: i don't play mechabellum myself and the title itself made it apparent enough that there was an update to the game, which definetly made it more interesting compared to "Mechabellum P17" and made me watch more actively for all the changes
@fshoef
@fshoef Жыл бұрын
@@day9tv I find that sometimes the 'P17' actually disincentivizes me to watch because I feel like if i start in the middle, I will have missed something. For some places like Mostly Walking, this actually is the case and makes sense. But for strategy games like this, I like these types of titles a more because it feels like I can jump in and not have 16 episodes to catch up on. Makes it more about the content of the video than its place in a sequence. Perhaps you could move the 'Part 17' to the description if you want to keep that information somewhere
