just a quick clarification, Jun is not Jin's sister but rather his mother. Asuka kazama on the other hand is Jin's distant cousin

The characters that are new to Tekken 8 are Azucena, Victor, and Reina. Claudio, Shaheen, Lidia, and Leroy were released in Tekken 7 so they're still kinda new. Yoshimitsu is a staple character in both Tekken and Soul Calibur games. His design changes in every single game. Everyone else is from older Tekkens. Jun was in the very early Tekkens but was removed for lore reasons. Eddie is an old Tekken character too, but I just wanna point out he usually had normal dreds, literally everyone complained about his new hairstyle. XD And a little extra lore here to answer some of your questions you were asking. Jun is Jin's mother, Kazuya is the father, making Jin a Mishima and a Kazama (He only used Mishima fighting style in 3) Heihachi is Kazuya's father, owner of the corporation Mishima Zaibatsu, and the creator of the King of Iron Fist Tournament (Tekken literally means Iron Fist) Kazuya and Jin both have the Devil Gene passed down to them from their mother Kazumi Mishima (Heihachi kills her in 7) Also, Heihachi trained both Kuma and Panda to fight. Kuma is his pet, Panda was given to Ling Xiaoyu as a pet/bodyguard/friend

I'm so glad you did this! Tekken is a wonderful series, and yeah, if you were born in 1994, especially late 1994, you're basically as old as the series is. That's the case with me, so i've always felt like i had a special connection with the series and characters. Loved it ever since i discovered it. Very nice early birthday present! :D (Oct. 8)

You saying you don't wanna face Dragunov online is comical, shortly after the game launched, you couldn't go more than a few matches without facing a Dragunov. There's only a few that I, as an Eddy main, haven't faced. Shaheen and Zafina are super rare to see online, there's a Jack-8 here and there, then it just goes up from there.

Not sure if many people already told you about this in the comments but fun fact - Jack is always renamed after whichever number is in the title so for example in T5 we had Jack 5, in T6 we had Jack 6, T7 = Jack 7 and... well, I think you get the idea now XD

Welcome to Tekken! Love your thoughts on it. I was initially gonna write a super long comment of each character's initial story info/bits, fighting styles and general tidbits. You should look into Tekken's openings and "The Insane Lore of Tekken", it's a good one that goes over the series! If you enjoy defensive playstyles, Asuka Kazama might be for you! She's a far more defensive style focusing on reversals and parries.

Fun fact Kuma is heihachi mishimas pet and though 8 games there’s been 2 Kumas kuma 1 is in tekken 1&2 but he passed away in shortly after 2 and the kuma you see now is the current kuma

If you're saying you are defensive play type then Asuka is perfect character for beginner, she has big a$$ parry window and Sabaki moves that can also bait opponent into one, or if you're interested in "cool" and technical defensive character then I'd recommend for Lee, his optimized moves can be a little bit tricky to maneuver, but he's considered by far the strongest defensive character.

Reina, Victor & Azucena are the newer characters as of this installment. Also, Nina is voiced by the same VA who voiced Cetrion in MK11 which I thought was pretty sweet. 20:58-21:10= I honestly thought she was dead too 4 as long as I've been following this series.🤣 Basically, Harada confirmed that Jun has been MIA for a very long while. If you plan of playing the main story mode, The Dark Awakens (which takes place around the same time as the new story update), you'll unlock a small vid that goes into all of those particular details once you completed it. There's also small story videos that u can watch which give you a basic gist/summary of the overall story 4 Tekken 1-Tekken 7. 01:18:49-01:19:21= U CAN fully customize all of the characterz so u do have the option 2 use a different hairstyle 4 him. Which THANK GOD, since I'm so freakin used 2 the dreads ponytail he's had since Tekken 3.🤣🤣

It's too bad that Lee's main costume doesn't really reflect his personality at all. Yes, he is the creator and CEO of a HUGE tech (mostly robotics) company, but he's also a very refined gentleman. His second costume looks way better and doesn't have the weird goggles :P Also, you said Law must be all about timing but actually Lee is. He has a lot of frame perfect moves that do more damage if you have, well, frame perfect timing.

Lili and Asuka may be my least favorite characters in terms of stories, and overall impact, however, from a gameplay standpoint, they're not bad. Lili managing to create her own style based off her flexibility, gymnastics and ballet, is really unique. Asuka is not really my kind of character, but she's ok. Also, their rivalry is extremely one-sided. Lili is a sore loser over the fact that she lost to Asuka in the 5th Iron Fist Tournament.

Also the story that you'll see I'll short it for you it's mainly about the Mishima bloodline heihachi the father of kazuya and heihachis wife kazumi had the devil gene that got transfer to kazuya and heihachi threw him off a cliff if he lived he was a devil if not then he died Then kazuya got revenge then became evil then heihachi got his revenge on kazuya then kazuya had a son that's jin kazama who has the devil gene and his mom is jun kazama not his sister but just basically its about a family that likes to hurt each other a lot.
