You missed the worst update. There is no drive selector anymore. The car just "guesses" what gear to be in, reverse, forward, park.

This is nuts. Sorry we missed it! Upon further research, here's what Elon tweeted: "No more stalks. Car guesses drive direction based on what obstacles it sees, context & nav map. You can override on touchscreen."

I wouldn't say that going faster is bad, but Tesla needed to improve a large number of things and acceleration wasn't one of them. Faster does not equal better.

Because 0-60 times is what creates hype, video games is what makes its round on social media. Making an utterly stupid shaped steering wheel on a regular passenger car makes its rounds on Instagram. Because deleting the turn signal stalk makes you think their autonomous system is safe & ready for the public roads. When it clearly is not. A real car company wouldn't do any of this because they actually give a fuck about making a good product.

Other than interior quality, which we'll see soon, and quality control, which is getting better quickly, they have the best range, best driver-assist features, best UI, best acceleration, best looks (subjective), best design (lowest drag coefficient), and more. If I want it to throw us back I can, but I can very easily just drive normally with simple pedal control. The thing that IS great is that you don't have to work as hard to GET that insane torque. Serious question, but wouldn't insurance be super high on these cars with so much tq? I mean under 10sec and knowing most people driving these barely know how to handle a car is quiet scary. Or some kid who's 18 taking his parents Tesla out for a spin.... >__< Also, aren't we going a bit overboard with these EVs reaching speeds this quickly? How is this even safe? I know some may argue....well Lamborghini's are fast.....yeah but you barely see those on the roads and they are not as attainable for most people. Tesla's I see everyday driven by normal people. Imaging that most EV's could be this quick is a bit crazy and dumb considering there is speed limits and pedestrians everywhere. I think EV companies need to focus more on range and less on these drag #'s which are irrelevant unless your at a party and have no skills like James.

It is a full ownership experience, the Tesla ecosystem, etc. Can't describe that. U have to experience that. Not to mention, EVs are way, way more convenient to deal with on the daily basis - driving to and back from work for example. There is nowhere in any law a statement "the steering wheel has to be a round wheel" Nowhere in the whole world. Everybody assumes it, but its just simply not true. Show me a steering wheel in a crane or a caterpillar.
@cofal79
@cofal79 3 жыл бұрын
@@wolfgangpreier9160 Big difference in speeds. Also what cranes and caterpillar do you think about? You get them all with a round steering wheel, if not you get a joystick. And you have more control with a joystick than you have with Teslas steering wheel portraited in the concept pictures. As they explain, if you have to do a maneuver that require more steer than you can get will end up with your arms crossed and nothing to grab. will result in a crash. Tesla is letting you beta test it again, and there is a law international that say that the steering wheel should be practical, Skoda had a square steering wheel, they dropped it, because of it.

I actually have to agree with Thomas in regards to the Tesla’s instant torque. My friend’s mom owns a Tesla, and that was the first thing I noticed after we started driving, no matter how soft or hard the petal was pushed, the power was right there and it quite literally jerked you from not in motion to in motion. Obviously it wasn’t nearly as aggressive in soft pushing versus hard pushing, but it was noticeable. Idk if is different in models other than the X, but I would assume not.

I own a 2020 Model X performance. It's the smoothest accelerating car I've ever owned. Sure, you can choose to give your passengers whiplash, but once you learn the throttle response you can make everything buttery smooth. Mind you I always keep it in ludicrous mode. I tried chill mode for a road trip once when trying to maximize range. It didn't help range at all and when I needed to accelerate quickly to avoid a semi in the lane I was merging into it was spongy and sluggish in a way that I was surprised/unprepared/alarmed by. Sounds like she needs to be gentler on the throttle.

Well, it’s only logical that to have this kind of interior. The steering « wheel » without any top (also, it’s in the Cybertruck), not having any gear selector, nor any turn signals... All that because you are not supposed to drive your car ! And I’m deadly serious. The main focus of Tesla has always been fully autonomous vehicles. Why do you need a wheel or any buttons when your car is doing the driving ? I really hate it, it still confirm that Tesla isn’t a brand for me, but eh, I guess this is the future of automobile in a sense.

The steering wheel without a top half, no drive selector (holy shit wtf?) just proves to me once again that Tesla is made for people who don't know anything about cars, but want to show off and claim they can "beat" supercars. Sure in a straight line it's faster and possibly not just 0-60 mph, but even 0-125 mph (which is more impressive, since it's not just about AWD grip at launch), but it handles like crap. No emotion to it, other than massive G force at acceleration. Elon sure is a good business man though, he knows how to sell cars. Although on the other hand I'm wondering what tyre the new Tesla will have and on what surface can it actually reach less than 2 seconds 0-60. Is it gonna be like the Demon where it can only produce that number on a prepped surface?

@@santiagocalderon3261 this is true. This company is so overvalued though. They are worth more than Toyota even though they only delivered under 500K vehicles, and Toyota delivered 11 million this past year. Granted Tesla is involved in other industries. I just think as soon as other automakers take the step to convert to a majority EV fleet, Tesla Autos is going to come crashing down. Or who knows? Maybe they will just continue artificially inflating their stock to be one of the most valuable companies.
