Immediately. I am like Chelsea only older and I have always been one to sit and listen never answering questions but today in our 5 Sunday meeting I am still trying to figure it out but when the teacher asked the question as to how we can so Jesus that we want to follow him it just came out LOVE AND CHAIRABLE . I have never done that before. I know it's because I have been studying more and want my Savior to know I will follow him.

Chelsea, as both you and Steve stated today, you have grown so so much as you have participated with your husband in teaching us the gospel. My wife and I followed the channel when Steve taught solo. When you joined, I really struggled to even hear your soft sweet voice. Now you teach boldly and we can hear and feel your testimony come right through the screen. Thank you both for your time to bless our lives with further understanding and opportunity to feel the spirit. We also enjoyed saying hello to you and Steve after church in Hawaii. Steve was good enough to come out to our car to say hello to my wife who was too embarrassed. Love you two ❤️

Immediately! My husband and I were watching October 2014 General Conference when we both felt, at the same moment, that we should serve a mission. The next day we were in touch with the Church auditing department and by the end of the week we were filling out our missionary papers and knew where we would be serving. Because of health issues, if we had waited or put off serving, we would not have had the most amazing, spiritual, growing mission experiences of our lives in Fiji. Often the window of opportunity to serve is shorter than we realize, necessitating our immediate obedience to those promptings!

Immediately is important. If I don't do things immediately, I can find ways to talk myself out of doing things. Also, from experience I have noticed that when I do something I was asked to to or prompted to do right away it is more spiritually satisfying than the times when I have delayed my response for whatever reason.

Immediately! what a concept to do something straight away. I come from a large family and have a large family and so know how important that immediately can be, but sometimes you just want to take in the moment and then go forward. Thanks for the lesson this week, it's important to make the scriptures applicable to oneself and then to others as they grasp the concept. It takes time to learn to step out of your comfort zone but when you do, the blessings do come. Chelsea you've grown so much and I look forward each week to the lesson knowing I will get something that will help me through the week. I appreicate all your confidence and showing us the way. My husband and I love listening to you each week. Thank you for your hard work. We have seen the changes in Chelsea as she has shared her testimony with us. As I was thinking of the net I need to leave, I realized an application I had been wondering about. This sounds strange but I too am a shy person. I have a difficult time talking to people one on one. I can talk to a group and it does not bother me. Probably because I taught school for 31 years. A few months ago I was called as a primary teacher. I loved it. It was so exciting to have the children open their scriptures and find the messages that were there for them and how to apply those lessons into their lives. I began talking to my husband about ministering and how we needed to minister to the children who were not coming to Primary. We were making plans to send letters. We copied the little coloring page and began sending it out. I had begun praying for how I could best meet the needs of these children. This was about six months into our calling. Then, a member of the bishopric came to my home to extend a call to the Relief Society Presidency as a counselor. My husband looked at me and said, this is what you have been praying for. Talk about being out of my comfort zone! These were adults. ALL of my callings for the last 48 years of our marriage had been with children to this point. Now I had to work with adults. I knew that I really needed to kick myself into gear. There was the net I needed to leave so I could Follow Him. I am so grateful for your videos. I am grateful for your handouts. They really help me as I study each week. I find peace as I study the gospel and as I attend the temple. This past week something happened with my family that brought real stress into my life. During that week, we worked in the temple 4 times, I studied my scriptures, and this morning I realized I am at peace. The situation with this family member has not changed, but I am at peace.

Immediately. I loved the concept of what safety net can I give up. When I was called to work in the temple I was so worried about being able to learn what I needed to and giving up my routine and schedule. However, serving in the temple has been a great blessing in my life and even though I have had to leave something’s of my old routine behind it has been so worth it.

IMMEDIATELY!! I just realized with this lesson, what I had to give up was the security of being a Gospel doctrine teacher. I’ve been teaching gospel doctrine for 8 years and it has been wonderful! I put my whole heart and soul into study and people enjoyed coming to class . We’ve been doing it the new way with discussion some videos and posters, but no handouts and no scripture handouts, just insightful discussion on the lesson. I was in a state of tears, knowing that I would be released. But when I was released, sitting in the chapel, I had the Spirit testify to me the answer to a prayer that I have been seeking for the last 8 years. I wanted the Savior to answer a concern that I had. once I let go of the Safety net, I got the revelation and the answer I needed. I am waiting for a new calling now, and have realized that being a gospel doctrine teacher was my Safety net. I Had to let it go and it’s time for me to learn something new.

@@brittsingleton9967 I’ll serve whenever the Lord needs my help in our ward. I have a way of “mourning” over things that don’t go as I would like. When my kids went away to college or on missions, I allowed myself 24 hours to be sad. When that time was up, I moved forward with my life. The Lord doesn’t want me to waste my time whimpering over something that’s meant to be. Anyway, that’s how I deal with things.😍😍

I IMMEDIATELY get my handout so I can make notes along with your lessons! Thank you so much for providing this extra guidance for me. When I studied Matt 3:7-8 I thought the application for me was to not look for faults in others, but to focus on my own faults that I need to fix. This lead me to the scriptures where Jesus taught about the beam in my own eye. I love how Jesus taught His doctrine in different ways so all could understand in the way they personally learn. Also, I really appreciate the additional light and knowledge taught in the Joseph Smith Translation of many of these New Testament verses.

Thank you both for all you give to us💕🙏 I love y’all Our ward just had some major changes & I’m having a really hard time with the changes 😢. I joined the church in 2017 so this is the first time I’ve had to deal with changes of this type. I don’t tend to have many “friends” due to the way my life’s gone but I finally opened up and now, yet again, people have been taken out of my life. I’m constantly in prayer asking for the Holy Spirit to lead/guide me and strengthen me to handle changes~~I have no control over. IMMEDIATELY my nature is to stay home alone but I’m trying hard because I know God’s got this & He knows what He’s doing. I was just released from teaching as well. I do still serve at our Temple every Friday in the baptistry~~that is such a grounding time for me. Blessings be upon each of you 💕🙏

From my personal experience, every day can certainly present its own worldly netting. Thus, recommitting to leave something of this world and seek after the things of eternity is a daily focal point. Admittedly, some days I am more fully engaged in following Him. I don't know that I am yet to experience a perfect day. Perhaps, I never will because those nets can be so consuming, even overwhelming at times. Yet, I shall faithfully press onward striving to be that person Heavenly Father needs me to be and knows that I am capable of becoming. I am grateful that I can rely upon the merits and mercy of our Savior, Jesus Christ for each step of this ever changing, ever challenging journey. So, why not have fun as a disciple of the Master! For this Sunday's Primary lesson, I am dressing up as John the Baptist! I've got a crazy, long haired wig and beard that I will wear as part of my outfit. A few thoughts immediately come to my mind as I ponder John's message anciently. What can I do today to prepare the way for the Lord? How can I welcome Him more in my life? What do I need to change or what specific worldly net do I need to discard this very moment to help others hear Him? I'm am so thankful for your personal insights on this particular lesson, Chelsea and Steve! We might not actually hear a voice from the heavens declaring "Thou art my beloved son or daughter in whom I am well pleased!" Nevertheless, as we straightway harken to the invitation to follow the Son, we can be confident that, indeed, God is extremely pleased with our efforts to choose the right and that we are precious to Him.

Immediately! What net do I need to leave to follow him? To take upon myself others' burdens and trials. Why is this what I need to leave in order to follow Him because I am focusing and dwelling on those things that are out of my control and things that happen around me (not to me or because of me, but around me) and blaming myself, when I should be turning to Him. I have found over the last several years that when things happen that are out of my control happen, I start to shut down and stop following the Savior. I simply go through the motions until I no longer think about them, and I can get back to my "normal" routine of things. This, in turn, leads me to being able to truly heal, forgive, and move on. I need to leave the net of taking others burdens upon myself so I can heal and follow the Savior with ALL my heart.

We need that spiritual hygiene daily, just as our physical bodies need to be cleaned! I think one of my nets that I need to leave behind is my worry and anxiety. I tend to worry a lot whether it’s about our children, our finances, the sisters in our ward, the things in the world that are going on, and so much more. I am a great grandma, I have had multiple church callings, but never have I had to teach Sunday school. I am struggling, I get so stressed, and sometime my stomach hurts, and I worry so much about making the scriptures interesting, and having things that will draw them in. I am so thankful for your videos as well as many others out there also. So Thank you and Chelsey for the time and effort you put into these videos. I for one appreciate it very much. I am from Gilbert, AZ.

Sharon Johnson, I am in awe of you for accepting this new calling. You have been prepared for this specific duty at this precise time in your life. Believe in yourself. Heavenly Father trusts you! You have loads of personal experiences born out of living by the precepts of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Simply love them. Testify to them of the bounteous blessings which have flowed into your life from your faithfulness in keeping the commandments. Our only child is 13, Sharon. It is such a difficult age. Just love them. Get to know them. If you focus on that, you will be such a wonderful influence in their lives. Don't worry about having to come up with something lengthy and deeply doctrinal for your class. Chelsea and Steve Scott offer you a great example of how to approach a lesson! They are amazing, aren't they? I feel their love as I'm certain that you do as well. But, you have an advantage over them. They are not you, Sharon. Simplicity is always the best approach. Continue to learn all that you can for your own personal edification. However, let the Spirit guide you as you teach these young teenagers. I will pray for you. Those feelings you are experiencing are real. Your anxiousness might not completely disappear, but the Lord will sustain you and raise you up with His grace. His enabling power is what each of us needs constantly. I teach the oldest group of kids in the Primary. I prepare each week as if I were going to be teaching the Gospel Doctrine class because I love diving deeply.. Yet, I truly have learned that the Spirit will direct me every single time I stand in front of my students. Sharon, anxiety has been an unwanted, lifelong companion of mine. I know somewhat of your concerns. You've got this! Nothing is impossible with God! Don't be afraid to show them who you are and continue to become because of your determination to choose the right. If you testify of Jesus Christ in each lesson, then mission accomplished! If the actual teaching/testifying time is only a few minutes, don't worry. It's more likely to sink into those still developing 13 year brains, and more importantly, their hearts.May the Lord bless you with all that you stand in need of this week and always!

Hey Chelsea! I can testify of your growth!! I was watching Steve for a while after a call from my sister about how much she enjoyed his lessons. That was followed by calls of frustration that you had joined him, and we couldn't hear you, and why would he do that. You are amazing! And yes, I can see your growth. Way to go! That's what I have issues with. These fake "all is well" smiles that we wear on Sundays or the same attitude conveyed through conversations. Does not that make me a deceiver and a liar? It would seem to me also that people asking "how are you" are really not interested in hearing about your concerns. Yet, if I share my true feelings and don't feel like smiling people backtrack and demonstrate their disinterest. It's just a meaningless question that is thrown in with their greetings and don't really want you to answer it. That's my experience. (A) I'm am lying and being dishonest with a smile and (B) how are you?, is a rhetorical question. As for Andrew, Simon, James and John leaving their livelihood to follow a stranger shows such emense blind faith, I love it. Thanks for another great lesson. Love from, Gina Mac of Queensland, Australia. 😊❤️🙏🐨🇦🇺✡️🧔‍♀️🪔

I also met with Elder Scott as a missionary! Have I told you my Elder Scott stories? If not, this is for the new viewers: Elder Scott's daughter, Sister Call (I erroneously called her "Sister Carr" in the past) lived in my greenie area: the Tucson East Stake. Anyway, Elder Scott was always at Church when I was attending and it felt like he knew me better than I knew him. He came to a zone conference at the Tucson Tucson Stake Center (downtown; west of the UofA) the day after his birthday: November 8, 2002. I gave him a birthday card. Elder Scott looked deeply into my eyes and said "Elder, thanks for remembering." No one has served as a more Christlike example to me than Elder Scott.

As this week’s lesson was to cover Luke 3, Matthew 3, and Mark 1, why did your lesson have Mark 3 when Mark 3 is part of the lesson the last week of February?

Immediately. Mark 1:23-45 is interesting. One doctrine I see there is that Satan and his followers know exactly who Jesus is. Also, Jesus' power dispatches those types immediately. So, what can I personally apply from this? 1) I want to know stronger for myself who Jesus is, and 2) I want to stay worthy and increase in worthiness to have increased power from on high to be able to discern if badness is around and pray to have it leave, or pray to remove myself from the situation. Another point in these verses is that Jesus asked the leper to not tell anyone that He cleansed him. For me, that means some good things Jesus does for me I write in my journal and just keep it in my heart (until such future time when the Spirit lets me know I can share it). I like the outline block idea for promptings from the Spirit a lot. Also, I have been color coding my scriptures since I first learned about doing it from Steve when he was teaching by himself. My Book of Mormon is the most complete for this. I'll see if I can take a picture and get it to you on FB or something. I changed the color meanings a bit. It does look pretty!

Hi Scotts, I have been following your channel for a few months and have enjoyed it. I have only listened to your podcast --- Today I decided to print out the worksheet and follow along with it. I am so glad I did. I love the 4 step process you showed. Scripture -- Understand--Identify --Apply. This is exactly what I need. I am one of those who gets the process from 'scripture' to 'understand'. When it comes to identify and apply I have been struggling. I have always found it hard to identify what it is I should actually "get" from the scripture and therefore be able to apply it to my life. I'm not saying that this is true for every scripture, but there are those that I just don't quite understand. Thank you for helping me identify and apply those that stump me. Love from, a lifetime to nearly dead member. ( Loved that BTW)

This is what I got out of Matthew 3. All are to repent and 'Come Unto Jesus' by being baptized by immersion and then receive the Holy Ghost by one with authority. Learn His ways good enough to teach them to others. Then prepare the way for the Lord while continuing to learn his ways. Just a note on us not being perfect. At the start of the video it has 'Matt 3, Mark1, Luke 3' but for the KZbin channel title it is 'Matt 3, Mark 3, Luke 3.' We all make mistakes. Don't let this hold you back from changing your ways to follow Jesus and his Father.

So, I'll play along: John the Baptist was a worthy Aaronic Priesthood holder who was the forerunner for the Messiah. He magnified his Priesthood responsibilities. Mark was a disciple. Contemporary histories I have read suggest he was a contemporary of the Twelve, particularly Peter.

So, here's something I've been saying in my honest journalist role when I tweet factual information on Twitter. I have integrated my role as a missionary but here it is: I share a fact. I say: make your own decisions because you have your moral agency granted unto you from a loving Father in Heaven. I will implement this into my repertoire more fully in the new year when moved upon.

The Baptist's assertion is essential. Just because you have a rich heritage, the Lord will not honor you if your heart is not right before Him. Father Abraham had many children.

Here's something else about doves: Noah sent a dove to find land. Cristoforo Colombo (Christopher Columbus for non-Italian speakers) had a surname meaning "dove" in Italian and the Lord sent him across the sea to find land and so, the Holy Ghost took the form of a dove to help people find the Christ. A dove is a messenger of peace and also reveals important things for mankind. Is that not what and who the Holy Ghost is?

I like that you are identifying doctrines, but I am not sure why you would skip over the doctrine around the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost - this is a doctrine! (Luke 3:16, Mathew 3:11, Mark 1:7,8); there are 2 baptisms. This important doctrine is contained in all 3 gospels. It is also a key element of the Doctrine of Christ (2 Nephi 31:17,18). You cannot even get on the straight and narrow path without this great event. Every podcast that I have listened to this week is skipping this important doctrine, including the Come Follow Me lesson. Joseph Smith teaches this plainly in his teachings. Why is this not taught by our expert teachers in the church anymore? It is also not taught or mentioned in General Conference these days; maybe you can explain this to me. Also, remission of sins...don't get me started...
