The problem with the Gen 1's is that they didn't actually didn't drop into mil-spec lowers, but they needed a special bolt catch in order to fit. And unless you got those special Aero swappable catches, thats a bit of effort just purely to go on a AR lower. Might as well make it its own lower.
@Ranny00002 күн бұрын
@ maybe it didn’t work out fantastic with the JAKL, but I do appreciate PSAs approach in allowing people to build their own pews. Keeps the barrier of entry down. @somefreedomfries2 күн бұрын
@@georgewhitworth9742 The extended bolt catch needed by the jakl also works with standard AR upper. Besides, if you want to switch back and forth between AR and jakl configs using the same lower you need to do some work anyway to remove the buffer tube.

@georgewhitworth97422 күн бұрын
Sometimes thats pretty reasonable to ask when the entire market for the AR15 is as huge as it is. 🤷🏻♂️ What needs to happen is the *non*-AR15 market needs to standardize on SOMEthing, rather then a million different proprietory rifles.

The alternating Mlok slots would make shortening the original handguard difficult anyways. A factory made short handguard would be the better option.

I’ve always said that PSA should offer buying just the barrel and trunion to do barrel swaps vs buying a whole new upper. I understand that can be difficult with the slot for adjusting the gas system would be out of place if you get a barrel with a different gas system length than the original purchase. But that has been one of the things keeping me from getting a Jakl so far.

Just one question. Why is there not a ambi safety in this when all the other controls come ambi? It can’t really be cost because the difference between a one sided safety or an ambi safety is only a few dollars. I would highly suggest including a ambi safety. It’s become standard on this kind of firearm from every other manufacturer. The dissent from Cmmg, the apc from B&T, the scar from fn, the MCX from Sig. All those piston guns have fully ambi controls. Even if it’s not necessary it just makes yours look cheaper and subpar without it.

I think that the non-interchangeability with the standard AR15 lower kind of ruins the magic of this rifle. I love the Gen 1 for this reason, and imo was the one great Equalizer in this guns success vs just buying a CZ.

Very interesting as usual, I wish you guys the best. PSA gets some hate but it’s a cost of dong business at your consumer friendly budget level. You guys do a lot for bumping the numbers up in the community so I respect it.

Those are very nice changes. I have a Jakl 300 BO and I like it but these are improvements. I've been wanting a 5.56 Jakl and now I want the updated version. I hope the .308 Jakl goes this route as well someday. 👍🏻

Thank you for making it different enough not to piss off the Gen 1 owners. There's still a reason to buy the Gen 1. Kudos. I might buy a 300blk pistol

PSA is the best. These guys continue to innovate. They are America's gun company. You could 1000% justify their guns being priced way higher for the amount of r&d they must do 24/7. But they dont. There is literally only one reason why... because they respect their customers. They could sell you their guns for twice the price and use the excuse of cost of innovation, but they know they will sell enough to cover costs, and pay for the next idea. Its really something to be proud of these days. Honesty and Integrity... 🇺🇲
