Tammy, thank you for this. I am very impulsive/ADD so I tend to plunge ahead with insufficient information. So far I’ve scraped more paintings than I’ve saved. So I made myself go back to basics, listening, taking notes, learning & hopefully retaining more. I will check out the other videos you listed and build my skills around your advice. I am very appreciative of your time & the generosity that goes into these instructive videos. ❤️❤️

Me, too! lol I did a two-part, eggshell geode with glue during my first few weeks after joining this pouring community because I liked the look someone, a knowledgeable artist, no doubt, got doing a geode with whatever materials they used. lol Some many months later I happened to catch a Tammy Anderson video where she suggested beginners learn basic recipes and techniques and build on their knowledge b4 attempting advanced techniques such as Blooms, etc. I chuckled to myself, but took her suggestion to heed: Began art school where I am exposed to drawing, design, color theory, etc. which I am enthralled with doing. Today, I still study the art school and art history I began then, I Zentangle for fun, and I watch a lot of acrylic pouring tutorial videos especially with artists other artists follow and who recognize beginners can watch, but will unnecessarily waste time & materials until they get some sea legs under them in the skills department.

Same here but I never scrape so I've got a huge pile of failed pours I think I could either pour over or embellish. A few actually turned out not bad but I really should get rid of most of them. Btw a lot of the time I pour on gessoed cardboard from Amazon boxes, pictures from charity shops or 12" vinyl I rescued from going to the dump. I'm still not confident enough to risk a new canvas.

Thank you Tammy. You have become a wonderful teacher. I have spent over 25 years teaching secondary and college, so my compliment is not frivolous. You are organized and breakdown your topic in an easy to follow fashion. This would have been helpful for me in 2018 but as you know, the fluid art journey has come a long way since we began. It will certainly help others get started on their journeys. Again, thank you for your valuable contributions. 😊

You and Mark Radcliffe are the only art people that explain exactly what you are using and how much. Everyone else keeps their pouring medium a secret, so thank you. I am new at this and most sites avoid this.

It’s large like 4ft by 2ft been dried since Nov I was trying to do for hubby’s birthday. It was a total fail 😆 Like you said it is ART Science no two year old can do it!!

Hi Tammy, this is also another great tutorial. Very timely, as I have been contemplating going back to basis lately. I honestly feel, we should all do that on the odd occasion, especially those of us that have jumped in feet first, to this wonderful art form and not taken the time to truly , learn and comprehend what we are doing or how a particular consistency works better for us, over another. Every technique, gives each of us, a wonderful opportunity to learn and explore. Thank you 🙏, sweet lady, for this video. I take it as confirmation of what I need to do ♥️💥🙏💐💐💐 from Australia

I am trying to learn everything about this new world because I make jewelry and journal books and I loved your tutorials on paint skins, l have a show coming up in July and would love to have new jewelry to show 😊 Thank you 😊

This video is great but I have one question. On the video around 31:35, you add a white mixture to what you have already made that includes your paint. Your comment was to increase the amount of paint, you added paint from another cup. Should I assume that which you added was your PM? Would there be a limit on how much you can add before you have too much PM for the amount of paint you originally used? Also, would American Floetrol be the same as the Ottawal? I get so confused with different artists having different recipes! I hope you can clarify this for me! 0:30

Hi Tammy great video now question I have used Elmer’s Glue All I did 2 paintings 2 months ago got beautiful cells got another bottle nothing not even with silicon spray oil nothing what happened even the glue seemed different did they change there mix nothing worked nothing bets floetrol but at $90 a bottle it just gets to expensive so I have been playing with water and silicon oil .it works great I will get my floetrol again but for now it’s water.

thank you for doing this video. It was so extremely helpful as always. Lately I’ve been seeing videos where people are doing pores like a ring, poor for example without flooding the canvas, and I wonder if there is a reason for that or if it works better one way or another or is it just who knows? Thanks for whatever answer you can provide. 39:08 39:08
