There was an artist who I came across and liked his stuff. a couple thousand followers. but he was teasing his song and i got hype for it. and because he continued to tease it I continued to get more and more keen on it. i hit him up a week before it was out and he gave me a bandcamp link to download it. i think that was super smart

You know this era sucks a bit because nothing's possible without having a budget, proper "blowing up a song" from 30 tiktoks cost around 600$+ - and that's not a guarantee, that's still to play a roulette, when you invest into spotify playlists, at least it directly pays off. Is 600$+ a lot? Well, if you ain't a big label and live off just streaming royalties or smth, yeah, that is quite a lot.

Why I'm saying no guarantee? Because you can pay for those 30 tiktoks done for you, and it might happen, that none of them will generate any substantial numbers to boost your actual streaming or following numbers.

@@Musformation Hi Jesse I love your content. I’m an artist of a small niche (rage rap) , my style is a sort of rage x trap style x melodic. Like most rappers it’s hard to find specific hashtags about our niche. The big artists don’t use hashtags, and the smaller ones I see on my community list use broad ones like “underground rapper” and “rap”. I am requesting advice from you but also I think the whole community would benefit from a video explaining: how many hashtags should you use, will the hashtags differ between TikTok and Instagram, will the hashtags ever change based on what form you are presenting your content, and I believe most of all an example from incel hypebeast would be the greatest gift for this whole community. I would love to hear your ideas!
