Small note: The guns on the Schill are actually Scharnhorst's guns. Graf Spee's guns have a shorter barrel, which means the ballistics of the guns are more similar to Scharnhorst than Graf Spee

They have similar 283mm, even on Gouden Leeuw but the biggest differences are Schill's 283mm AP got 910m/s velocity with higher alpha damage.

Yeah, Schill's guns are a bit of an oddity when it comes to its in-game performance (Scharnhorst plus on the AP (same weight and drag coefficient, but higher alpha, and muzzle velocity), and the HE is basically the same as Graf Spee's). Despite MBRB, though, I wish the base reload was a little quicker (like 17.5-18s or thereabouts) 'cos the DPM is just kinda depressing, despite the calibre (cf. something like Congress). That said, Cherbourg is in much the same boat.

I got it on the third container (that is my RNG for the year though), and it is so much fun in Brawls. I love the big gun combo with brawling tools. Randoms vs T10 will suck but they suck in most T8 CAs.

I have to agree with PQ on this one. I had a great experience in my 8 games with the ship, it handles well, has good turret angles, very decent armor and of course amazing guns. It feels worlds apart from the Spee, with cruiser dispersion on these 283mms you can aim for upper belt and superstructure on BBs reliably, and of course citadel cruisers even out to its maximum range. I’ve found it’s even decent at punishing DDs since you can brute force alpha with overpens and reload booster. It even has plane based ASW and German hydro for vs subs. Overall a great ship, just wish it weren’t locked in gambling boxes.

I got it on the 3rd loot box. Playing it, it feels like a Scharnhorst in handling and the guns are basically Scharn guns. The guns are pretty accurate however. Got alot of citadels. It can take heavy damage on the flanks tho.

So I just stumbled across this last night, saw the first German Cruiser chest was free, and grabbed it, that one had Camo and some fairly useless pennant...the next tier chest was marked on sale for 50 Doubloons, I almost didn't get it, I'm a little low at the moment... but I went ahead anyway. Sure enough, total investment 50 Doubloons, it popped up in that second chest along with more Camo. I couldn't freaking believe it, I thought it was a rental like Dunkerque or something. I'm a fairly new player (a few months) and I have some cool ships, but this is my favorite cruiser so far. If she had a third main battery turret, she would decimate all. Something I disagree with a little, she actually has a pretty decent secondary battery, in your games, you stayed at mid-snipe range...but that secondary combined with the torps will let you get much closer and ruin days if you stage it right. So far I've killed at least 3 subs in about 10 rounds, the depth charge option is a life saver. You MUST get the heavy AP shells with your Commander upgrade though... it makes a huge difference. You can farm BATTLESHIPS using the fast reload and heavy AP, just remember to zig-zag and ALWAYS pop out to check your surroundings. Still a great video, I wish people still brawled too... and this ship is a good light brawler if used correctly. Peace!!

I won this ship after purchasing 4 bundles! I usually don't have that kind of luck. Played 1 game so far and it performed well. I love my Graf Spee so I think that I will enjoy this ship. In any event I can not complain about getting a tier 8 premium for about 3000 dubs.

I've played against a few of these in randoms lately and they didn't seem to hold up well. But people are just getting them so everyone is still learning how to play it. BBs were eating these things alive so clearly pushing in early gets you a fast trip back to port. Shame about them being a lottery box ship.

I really lucked out. I bought two boxes with coal and three with gold (if I didn't get it with that, I wasn't going to go any further. The fifth box had the Schill. I'm not sure it's worth the regular price for a tier 8, let alone the full loot box expense, but for 2250 dubs and a little coal, it's not bad. It's fun and would not be a bad coal ship.

I've been having a real strugglefest with it, seems like it's very oriented towards punishing the enemy team's mistakes and I just don't have the skill for it.

Try to hang back a bit and act as a support cruiser in the start, save your HP till mid/late game. If you can keep a flank and not get overwhelmed or pushed out you can do a lot with your guns/health late game. But still a struggle since you need a team that knows what they are doing, or enemy team that folds.

Had to pay full unfortunately but I was waiting for this ship for a while, especially since they gave schill a heal last minute. Seeing how there hasn’t been an opportunity for me to buy graf spee in the three years I’ve played Warships - I see this as possibly the only opportunity for this ship. FOMO for sure but I’m a sucker for unique cruisers. Remember to compare this ship to the other German tier 8 cruisers rather than other nations’ ships.

Agir is a much more comfortable cruiser to play if you know how to play heavy cruisers in the high tier meta. Not overpowered, not under powered. Just a solid ship that will reward good plays and support a team. Shot does a great job smashing cruisers on the flanks.

In terms of model, they're Scharnhorst's guns. AP shells are slightly better, though (better alpha and muzzle velocity, otherwise the same), while HE is shared with Graf Spee. It's a little odd, but still functional.

FYI, this video is bait and switch. The fire duration was changed without notice to 60 seconds base. PQs video here clearly shows a base fire duration of 45 seconds. The gameplay showed here is NOT representative of the actual ship for sale.

I did the exact same thing! 1st was camo and some Pennant, second was camos and Schill (On SALE no less, like 50 Doubloons!), so for some reason, I bought a 3rd chest for 300 Dubs, and got more camo, pennants, and some silly patch. It took me like 15 minutes to figure out it wasn't a rental, or a 'baseball card' of a real ship, or some other gimmick. Then I read about ppl spending like 23k Dubs on it and felt much beter! LoL! I haven't played it, but looks like a proper T8 supecruiser to me. Gunpower is fairly comparable to Cherbourg: Similar DPM, similar AP pen, both got reload booster, and while the guns on Schill are a bit smaller, they are also more accurate in return. Without reload booster or with battlecruiser accuracy it would probably be underwhelming, but as it is, it seems just right for T8. The armor is pretty good as well. This thing would be OP at T7. It's much more of an upgrade over Spee than just a reload booster, and Spee already is a strong one at T6. The guns are supposed to be the same ones that Scharnhorst has (which are better than Spee's), but they are actually better than Scharn's. The AP is actually even better than Gouden Leeuw's, which is also supposed to have Sharn guns but gets better pen.

not really sure what PQ is talking about the event is correct : Schill can readily be bought in the armory for 11300 doubs or 23k+something for "admirality" pack.... Maybe the US Server got screwed over, but the "loot box event is for the Hildebrandt Hybrid T10

Back when the video was made the only way to get the ship was to gamble via loot crates or wait for a pity drop after buying enough of them. Some people spent a fortune on it, others got it for next to nothing in the few first they opened. Only now can you just buy it for dubs.

@@Waldherz Congress is a WG Fantasy with no Actual Size Reference. Ingame the Size is Marginally Bigger but it has 55k HP vs Schills 44k HP. Thats a Joke Mate. Alaska is slightly Bigger 240 vs215m) but has a whopping 60k HP compared to Schill 44k HP. By that Logic. Ägir which is bigger than Alaska should have nearly 70k HP. But all that is moot. Issue is Balancing. Schill already has Weak Firepower. It having low Survivability makes it Underpowered.

You show tier 8 and below MM. Mostly you will be facing 9 and 10 tiers and having a cruiser with just 6 guns and 60 seconds fire duration is really not great. Like Castilla is free tech tree ship, has almost same pen on AP, burst salvo, 9 guns, 30s fires. I know its tier 10 against 8, but in this MM you are just better with tier 10 ships cos you will mostly end up in tier 9/10 MM anyway. Also if you are facing dds, you really don't want to shot them with just six guns. I really don't see a reason to buy this thing. If you want to play german tier 8 premium I would just stick with Prinz Eugen. At least it has some usable HE dpm.
