I want to upgrade my analogy Carrera track to digital. 😊 I have some digital cars and a NSR Porsche 997 that I want to put a digital chip in. I am 63 and remember my first slot car race when I was about 12 yrs old or so. The tech is great now, I am getting back into this and what fun I am having. 😊

Hi great explanation of the system, I’m looking to start this hobby and could not find a decent step by step guide anywhere as good as this. It seems the Scalextric system is more common in the UK, but I think I would prefer the Carrera setup. I have a question, how long and wide is this setup in the configuration you have it ???. This is Bruce, not Marilyn. Just got my Carrera Digital 132 DTM Furore set. How did you go bout finding and implementing your expanded track layout? Are there any particular cars you recommend? And don’t you think the power saving mode on the CPU should still recharge the wireless controllers? Enjoy your videos. Just looking for help in my new venture. Thanks!

Hi Bruce! Let me see... I planned the expansion using Ultimate Race 3.0 based on the general area and what I wanted. Cars... All are good, I would recommend looking at the Carrera site and see how the cars you like handle various radius of BANKED turns, if you want banked turns... They can limit your car choices. All cars run different, so if you're really going to race, I would suggest like cars competing (my 917 outruns everything else I have). You are correct, the power save won't charge the controllers when it turns off. Then again, they top off quick... Thanks for the support!!!

@@marilyngunsch8193 all the cars are fun!! Feel free to experiment. You might like Formula 1 or muscle cars too... You can also convert Scaletrics, as well as other brands, by getting a chip (Carrera compatible) and installing.

And I noticed you put some dowel rods under the track at curves. Little trick to allow curves a bit faster? Nice. On this iPad it shows my wife, but I’m Bruce at [e-mail]. Thanks again

Try a good cleaning of the cars. Are you running on a carpeted floor?? Lots of stuff builds up on the track and hence the tires. Good clean of the tires and the track should help. You can use a damp rag to wipe down the track for now...

Sets are available for a couple years or so, but there are other similar sets available currently. I paid about $400 3 years ago.

Either work good. You can even mix, 2 wired and 4 wireless.
