I think you forgot to talk about the Una's Tokens. For New Players: you get these by doing the una's dailies/weekly quests, and you can see your progress on the left of the Una's screen. u can the Exchange these tokens at the Gold Shop in any major city, for essentially free weekly gold. (The progress meter resets every wednesday just like all weekly content, so u can do it every week)

A big block my friend add recently was fusion material when going from 1302 to 1370 with barely any gold income. I recommend doing punika chaos gate and map and sell everything for a solid 1k gold+ per chaos gate usually to purchase them. Otherwise event gives you all the mats you need

I was a new player until a week ago, i quit. NA is not noob friendly, they expect you to know mechs even if i explained that while i know them from videos, i still need to practice. Most rooms also filter players through engravings. I do have irl friends ingame but they cant help me in raids because of ilvls, they are running 1445, so i gave up. Game is good though, but the stress of finding groups in raid and "forcing" you to have alts to at least be competitive killed the game for me.

i only play this game because all my friends play it and they pretty much boosted me to get caught up, i would never play with random ppl because of what you mentioned. with how dailies/weekly limit ability to earn, this game works well for me because i have limited free time anyways and i'm probably not gonna make an alt, this is just a good way to play some raids once a while with friends even though i screw them over quite often. In the end it's just about spending time with ppl you like and not taking it so seriously and lost ark does a poor job unless you either spend money or have people boost you

Started 3 weeks ago with 60 hours. The game enables the gatekeeping and elitism. Why if a player meets item level requirements people are filtering players for engravings, gems etc. I go to streams and u see people looking at every single piece of gear and stat u got and then decide if u are worthy to play with them. if u need the optimal glass cannon builds to clear then that means the game is poorly balanced. I have played final fantasy and ive cleared content with just min levels no need to get overpowered with extra stats or buffs. The time gating with daily/weekly content is what encourages this toxic behavior and mentality. I'm pushing through the boring progress of story where there isnt a single player and u see bots everywhere, if it wasnt for the bots I would think im playing a single player rpg, nobody queues for any dungeon u are just solo playing the whole time, its very lonely and boring. Single player rpg story progress vibes + knowing that in the endgame multiplayer experience, the elitism is normalized, it takes my motivation away from just finishing the story. It is sad because the raid mechanics look very cool, combat is fun and the environments feel fresh to look at, but just knowing this is the type of community I'm becoming part kinda makes me sick. To be clear i'm not really blaming the players there will always be elitism in any game u go. Is the developers the ones that created this optimal elitist environment. My advice: don't force everything at once. If you have the time, split your dailies - or just skip guardians for one day, then chaos the next, then guardian again and so on. I personally have 2 groups. A. Chaos + Una B. Guardians I do either of the two after reset - whenever I have the time. Then before reset - whenever I have time - I do the rest. In my personal case, I am done with Group A in about 2hrs (11 characters). Group B I do with my 6 gold gainers - the others don't have engravings, so I don't want to do Yoho/Deskaluda with them, and it takes about 40 minutes. Group B, Guardians only, has the advantage of it not taking much time at all. Which gives me the time to do weekly raids. If I skip Group A or B one day, it doesn't hurt too much. My sanity > honing materials.

You didn't mention the Stronghold If someone new is reading this: Level up your stronghold so you can have access to the Transfer Knowledge function and the Training Transfer Knowledge make alters way easier you just need the materials to reach certain Item Level and you skip all the history wich takes like 2 hours per continent if you are going fast Training takes your level 50 character and start gaining exp without doing nothing until it reach the 2 levels below of your highest character PS: Sorry for maybe bad english i'm from Spain

Engravings are important though maybe not strictly 5x3, but at least 4 engravings that actually make sense. Idk this is the only mmo where i Could get to the endgame and experience big raids, lvling is easy, now you can get carried so cheap while you farm your runes and skill points, supports are op. Expecting to experience the same content in same Fashion as someone who played for 6+months is delusional. The content releases in such a way that in a few months sometimes you will reach the last piece of content before it releases. I remember trying other mmos and never Even reaching max lvl, this Game is actually really calm if you play only at your own pace. Tldr theres people who have 9+ characters at 1490 now and theres people like me who have only 2 by playing since launch and probably ppl who have less, we can all do the content thats in the Game now. Its a grindy mmo so if you play more you have more, Find your balance and remember, its a Game.

To anyone new just know 7/7 stones arent what you might think. NA West its ~80k gold PER 7/7 stone. Stones that are dirt cheap (5g stones) will run you like 50k-80k gold and the more expensive ones will take you upwards of 110k. If youre trying to gear out dont focus on a 7/7 stone. Gear will get you MUCH further goldwise.

Stopped playing back in May, came by to see if it was good to pick back up. All I got out of this is they still make the game feel inconvenient so you will spend real money to overcome those inconveniences. Other games I play, I can spend $80 a year and the experience is great. This game I found the experience sucked and I spent hundreds of dollars a month to overcome that. If you are a new player, this is something you need to consider.

My advise to new players is, bring your credit card and a lot of time. Without a full roster, aprox. 6 characters you will not reach end game. Reason is you need the roster to create gold or your credit card. Sywo your tips are great but you need to be honest to the new players. To get any where close to end game is going to take a F2P player about 6 months of grinding. Not everyday but at least 3 to 4 day (+- 4hrs per day) gaming night/day sessions. Lost Ark is a marathon and the west version is a marathon at warp speed. Also, the West players are not helpful. A lot of gate keeping going on.

I've been playing since end of june, having a life and all, and I turned 1400 last week. Sitting on 25mil silver and 26k gold with around 10k una tokens in the bank. Completely F2P, I took my time, always looking forward to endgame. Then I got to endgame, and it's ridden by toxicity and gatekeeping. I guess you're from KR, It's not about Western players being not helpful, in the 1st place is the game itself that promotes gatekeeping and toxicity, in that case even the nice ones can turn into gatekeeping assholes. I honestly think that the game and KR culture is toxic at its core. When I watch KR streamers it's alway "do this, do that BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE", shitting on classes, gatekeeping on stream. FOMO and gatekeeping, the KR streamers are a disgrace.

I love the gameplay itself but there's so many different systems in place, I have no idea what material is rare and what material is super rare. @@KambingGaming531 For context: In case your not in a guild or static in the late game you have to apply for public parties in order to clear raids. Those parties tend to have relative high requirements for you to join. Those requirements are most of the time pretty dumb since you dont need the stuff they ask for in order to clear it. But if you dont have what those people ask for (even if you dont need it) you get essentially locked out of progressing further threw the game because none is accepting you into their party. Meaning of Gatekeping: The practice to lock people out of activities is called gatekeeping.

I just started playing about a week ago, and so far I have tried a few different classes. As far as seen, a DPS arcane caster has been the easiest level, with the bow using ranged DPS(can't remember the name) being pretty easy and fun as well. Today I made a Berserker instead of a Destroyer simply because it felt like the Destroyer attacked a bit slower and I felt like the DPS output of the Beserker had to be a bit better simply because of the attack speed. After watching this video, I an going to go trash said Berserker and make a Destoyer and give it a go lol. Thanks for putting out content for players like me who have no clue what they are doing lol

The main problem I see for new players is not to catch up in ilvl but to get on par with a matured player base and consolidated (albeit defect) market. Newbies won't be able to buy Legendary Grudge books at 1,2k a pop, they are almost 20k a book on my server. Next week all the prepared older players will run around in max. Tripods, while newer players will have to pay between 2k-10k for a Tripod upgrade chance of 30% after update, excluding the Pheon cost. Talking pheons, the crystal prices are touching 3k per 95 on my server. That's insane. You pay close to 30k Gold for 100 Pheons now. Back in the day we were buying crystals for 300g per 95 and it was considered expensive. Speaking off, Crystalline Aura, the de-facto sub in this game that you can buy with ingame gold, will cost you 14k Gold at current prices per month. The botting, the insane FOMO, the swipers, NA and EU has such insurmountable Mountans of Gold cost for new players, it's insane.

You dont need to buy tripods you can easily get lvl 4 tripods by just doing chaos everyday. Crystalline Aura is nice to have but also not necessarily needed. Ive been playing the past month completely without Aura (1475ilvl with 1430/45alts). I agree that books and crystals are overpriced for new players but that is the case in every mmorpg after thr playerbase has matured. The problem with this game is as repeatedly mentioned already by others: Gatekeeping. You are forced to gatekeep because you can't waste your time failing/teaching raids with new people bc its an alt character based game and you need the time to do ur homework on all chars.

the argos busses are cheap, you still get 1900g. also valtan normal is also pretty cheap, you get like 2000g then you can buy some cheap accessories to get 4x3 but begin with a stone (5x3 gate keep is only at kakul) Edit: also lvl 5 gems

Rarely i find myself playing argos when guildmates do but then i usually take the 1 or 2 1415 on those for fast clears

I'm an old player, and what motivated me to stop was precisely having been forced to create alt character, to be able to farm like the vast majority... this made the game become tiring and repetitive. Another point was also the absurd difficulty of doing raid boss in endgame... I only go back to lost ark when they create a new server and block alt drops... meanwhile I'm in the new world's fresh start hype❕

i think the "absurd difficulty" is just cus you are not familiar with the mechanics and or are playing a slow class like sorc gunlancer artillerist striker... what might help you is to switch to a alternative build or class that uses swiftness as a main or balanced stat. sorcs and artillerists have swift alternatives as many other classes do

Best advice is if you're new Don't pay to jump ahead ! Don't listen to these content creators just play through the story, learn the systems and your class. By the end of the play through you will know if the class is for you. You will save money and actually learn the game. Ive had friends skip ahead and all have the same experience. You will struggle mightily if you don't know the systems or classes. Many will get discouraged and quit. Just my opinion. Unless you want to whale and pay real world $$.

Honestly AGS has done a good job with their catchup mechanics. I took a break after Argos released with only my main in t3 sitting at 1370. About a month ago I started playing again and now my mains at 1460 and I have 8 of my 16 alts between 1370-1415. I'd say the hardest part about starting or returning to the game now is finding learning parties for legion raids.

I tried to play as a Bard with my second character during the ‘sub-class try-out” section in Trixion but became very discouraged by the extremely low damage I was inflicting on enemies. My first character is a Machinist (Scouter) and I had no problem clearing enemies during that Trixion section. Why is it so difficult for beginners to play as a Bard?

The Machinist Class is all but no cheep if u play Evolutionary Legacy , and about the tower for new players , is recomand not to be support cuz they cant do it and get to lvl 22 ,so i say recomand is to use the first char to be a dmg class and with the second punika pass to use it for support class.

One of the biggest issues right now is the gatekeeping for not having specific ilvl, engravings, roster level or a stupid title. People are making the game a catch 20/20 where they need to play the game to get gold to catch up but being kept from playing the game because they are not keeping up. Or people quitting after 1 fail attempt during a raid. The overall community sucks right now.

Unfortunately no, lost ark is inherently a game that revolves around end game raids and does not have many good 'casual options'. There is horizontal content such as islands and collectables but outside those the game doesnt offer much. Life skilling is tedious, monotonous and above all else completely botted out to the point where turning a profit is inefficient and not worthwhile. The current player housing system on na/eu/sa is not great and is similar to alot of mobile game strongholds. Basically tabs and crafting tabs. In the future they will be adding internal housing decoration but that is only available on kr and we dont know when that update will hit the western version of the game. Hope this helps.

Lost ark is about the bosses and raids so i dont think its the best game for you a complete opposite is Warframe where its all about the power fantasy clearing mobs like trash and bosses dont mean a thing Edit: i love both Lost ark and Warfame

The stones work as a drop or a bought item from the auction house or in game merchants. they will have two engravings on them and a number of pips or nodes. you use an npc to 'cut' the stone. its gambling at the first click you have a 65% chance for the node to activate (this is good) if it fails its now a 75% chance for the next one to activate and if it works its 55% to work. So to understand it better i recomend using a stone cutting calculator on google just search for one and play with it. Once all the nodes are full you can equip the stone the best ones for you are a 7/5/4 relic stone for tier 3 and I wouldnt care about anything lower than that. you have about a 30% chance for that to work. came back a year later, initially left because of bad honing rates, gatekeeping from Argos raid and pay to play mechanics like pheons, inability to purchase potions for ingame currency and etc. do not recommend the game even more than before. Smilegate, so much time later still haven't realized that Western player audience and Asian player audiences have drastically different gaming cultures.... different as night and day. Pheons still in game, potions and consumables that are absolutely necessary for harder content are still not easily acquirable (like, run up to a vendor and just buy it for silver, potions is not something i want to grind hours for, just so i can be accepted into content), you have to grind like hell to get them, once you run out of free ones that game throws at you, or straight up buy them from cash shop. content is still heavily gated, even more so as Smilegate didnt implement any real (as for western player base) catch up mechanics. Even Blizzard realized that if they dont give new and returning players catch up mechanics, they wont play. Like, back in older days, if you missed a season in expansion, it would take you a month + to catch up and if you were a casual, catch up wasnt even an option. so blizzard, just started giving you "free" entry level gear, every season, so no one is left behind. a new or returning player can just come into the game, get full entry level gear necessary for doing CURRENT content within 2-5 hours, and than join the mass player base and enjoy the game. As for lost Ark, nothing similar been done. either you buy a boost, or you come back with pre argos, ilvl (mine is 1350). no gear is given or boosted, you have to spend weeks to get to 1415, or whatever ilvl everyone else plays at right now. honing rates have not been upped to catch up to 1415, (unless you come back during their hyper express event, which in reality should be always on for new and returning players till they catch up to 1415). so yeah, pretty much no catching up. As for playing. I specifically play games like WoW and Lost ark, as multiplayer, i dont want to solo content, i dont like solo content, i want to join groups and just do content together, it's my understanding of fun. So what happened just now as i returned and there were no catch up mechanics in place, which would bring me to where everyone plays at..... content is dead, i can't find a group for chaos dungeon, 10 mins in queue, still not a person. i didn't bother trying anything else realizing the results will be the same. so now that i realized that i have to engage in doing boring catch up content for weeks solo, i decided not to bother coming back at all. oh and as for other players, over the period i tried to figure out what's going on, i saw only 3 players, most likely bots. game seems dead, or at least on ilvl where i play. This coming from North America region.

My best tip is: If you have notoriously bad RNG in any game, don't play this. This game and making gold sometimes revolves around having good RNG... may it be acc drops, golden engraving books or collecting your cards for Light Of Salvation... everything is RNG. If your RNG is bad in general, you will have a very bad time. Another tip: Just start with 1 character, see if you can stick with the endgame grind. If you can, make alts and earn more gold... if not, either quit or casually play that one character.

On the current market Lost Ark is a OK MMO but people need to accept it's a pay2win game. However it's possible to be a free2play player you will just need to have 5-6 alts, play every day 5-8 hours especially if you wan't to catch up to current content. I myself played since release, got really burnt out stopped playing in summer, returned when Scouter/Machinist hit, I understand the game, know how it works but due to my summer break my roster level is 82, and i'm being gatekept due to this, my scouter is 1450 with 4x3 engravings and get refused to raids, when I ask why they say my roster lvl is too low. so now i'm looking for a guild that can help me with this. And the Gold economy is truly afwull in this game, sure you have daily quests, at the end you get to get 3 large gold chests but if your RNG sucks you get like 3-4K gold and that's it.

You need to go into a bit more detail on your engravings/stats as that's usually a big reason why people get gatekept. Say you are EL Machinist. You probably Don't have the 1600+ spec, 500+crit main stats or a standard engraving build. That plus the roster level shows a high potential for inexperience. Joining a guild is your best bet to find people to raid with and help your build.

Started game when it launched as scrapper mainly to pvp,it disappointed me so I boosted bard for it,did not fit me,then I made gunlancer.. I been playing just that character.Made it to 1570 already as f2p by playing just one character(I tried other classes like scouter/shadowhunter deathblade,I got them to 1460s and deleted as I just had no desire to play them.). New players advice is take longer time on picking class you want to play,all materials you waste on class you don't like will not return.I have regrets on materials I wasted however with the recent content even my favorite gunlancer makes me question the class choice,I can no longer ignore mechanics and face tanking damage is just not an option,my copium is that destroyer was not available when I played so wait for the events that help push characters.the 1490 boost will come eventually and that is when I'll make my 4th alt.(I got 1500/1570/1460 gunlancers.they require bare minimum consumables and finding party's is not an issue and horizontal content is something you can ignore where other classes need those extra skill point potions.) Fair warning ,the class felt great in early content but as you go beyond 1500 you realize you are a support and stagger bot ,some of game content will make you question what even are you,so if I end up switching main class I still got a class I love playing as an alt with memorable moments. In short you can't go wrong by trying game as gunlancer,this class is forgiving on making mistakes or aiding your group when they need it the most,hands down best ultimate in game.

Well i would sugest firepower enchancment piano bild artilerist that includes recent corean update when it coms to engravings its fast it can take a hit due to shild clas engraving is curently cheep around 4k its ranged clas that does decent dmg that dont get locked in long animations that often in that bild another relativly easy bild is reflux piano bild on sorc mana shild later on lets you survive you dish out skils like mad man without much thinking as mele goes tayjutsu scraper swiftnes meybe 1 ring with crit bild simple mobile does a lot of stager and destruction

I'm a Paladin main with 50/50 Swift/Crit Tai Scrapper and Swift Artillerist and I approve. Swiftness builds are *generally* cheaper and more forgiving. Spec and Crit classes are slower and often rely on lining up burst windows. Swift classes are reliant on constant uptime, but also mean that whenever you see an opening in the fight, you can do some damage and then dash away to safety.

If you are talking about Oreha hard mode people run card runs in party finder but the pass gives you legendary gear anyway so you dont need to do this.

and? join the no title requirement parties then and fail for 1-2 hours every run..until u have the title urself. or get your itemlevel to 1460, get full relic set by bussing and apply to 1430 normal mode vykas with it.. then they also accept you when you try hard enough, then u can overcome the gatekeeping, but you have to be dedicated

If you're looking to start playing a new game/mmo, then avoid Lost Ark. I speak as a new player. Nothing against this guy, who seems to be a decent bloke, but he's just doing his own interest telling you to come play this game, because he makes a living off streaming this game. He advises you to play support so you will be accepted by groups: wrong. As a Pally main at a fresh 1400 in need to gear up, I have to compete with 1445+ fully geared Pally/Bard alts to get into groups. It's like 3 days now that I try to do P1 Argos so I can get my last legendary, I keep getting refused even tho' I already beat the thing at ilvl 1370. I made my own lobby "P1 chill learning" to invite people who are actually scared to apply for groups/busses and want to learn. Not a single soul applied. Pug is out of the question, 1 wipe and everybody wants to disband. And sure sure "jOiN bUsSes" yea, no. The community is toxic, as a new player you can't learn and make mistakes, everybody will flame, mock you and then kick you out. You play with people who have been playing this game since the start, have failed hundreds of times and are doing the same content on their 24th alt char. It's hopeless. On the new event Mystic, applied for pug, we go and manage to get to 3rd phase: all die except me and a really good Deathblade. I went in semi-blind to have fun, I only knew about the mist mech, while me and this other guy/gal are carrying the whole thing, in the chat a 1490 Destroyer dude who was always the 1st to die in every phase starts mocking me because "i just support and I am not killing ads", after him another guy, dead, starts to mock us both, me and the deathblade, can you even believe that? With people in the chat writing "you ded he's alive and carrying you". At that point I stopped playing and we wiped, because I didn't want that idiot to get the rewards if we pulled it. This is very sad. Next day I went and I got my freaking hammer woohoo. Sad. This is the state of the community and the state of this game. Look for a different game, or just wait for Diablo 4. EDIT: some background, Pally with 3x3+1, all the stats in the right place, and even the right card set 3x4%hp.

I would think you'd be fine with lvl.3 Blessed/Expert/Awakening and 1400+swift 450+spec(For Argos P3). For your first section, most people do not want to do P1/2 Argos anymore and only P3 runs are wanted especially after they made the change so all gates are 1370 ilvl. It's very rare to see someone actively play 6+ chars as it's incredibly inefficient once you go passed your 6 weekly gold earning chars and that's mostly for people you play this game excessively. Most people have 3-8 characters(beyond 6th can be used for silver generation and bi-frosts) and do rested dailies and as many raids as they have time and experience for. If you want a good community to form the core of your raiding group you should join a guild. People are usually nice on discord and can guide you through mechanics in real time.

The same day I wrote that comment then I was lucky and found a decent group, we cleared P3 like a breeze, same day pushed to 1420, got full relics 4x3+1, added lvl3 magick stream. Then lvl1 master of escape because the accessory was kinda cheap. But then I stopped playing, not playing since 2 weeks now because the game is a shit show with server disconnects and AH not working. Shit game with good combat, shit company and shit community. I'm sorry but that's just how it is.

@@ctrlectrld That's a fair assessment sadly. The server/AH stability is pretty bad. For community it's always been a get a guild game. Most players are "progression" based players and they are like angry housecats anytime anyone makes a mistake(especially themself). Raiding is my fun in this game so I don't actually care that much about blitzing through it. When you get in a discord call with good people it's fun no matter how the raid's going.
