Thanks for the tutorial/after action report. I just got this game in the mail yesterday. I put together my first squadron last night for a short New Britain campaign. I'm eager to see how they perform when I get them up in the air tonight. Primary target will be a small freighter and secondary target will be photo reconnaissance. Your video was very helpful to get me oriented with the game so far.

have you played B-17 flying fortress from DVG... I bought it yesterday after watching your series on Corsair... I would like to get Corsair but couldn't find one for cheap on ebay.. so I did find B-17 for a really good price so I got that instead... thanks for your help in this series and I have learned alot and it looks really fun...

I have B-17 and it's great (may do a playthrough in the future) completely different to Corsair Leader - you'll love it! (BTW check if it's the 2nd Edition, if not get the updated rules book on BGG)

I only have B17 Leader and someone's already done a recent playthrough of that. I would love to do videos of Phantom and IAF Leader (maybe one day!)

Hey rough, do you mind clearing up some confusion I have regarding pilots/ bandits ata modifiers please? The rule book isn’t very clear in its explanation, or at least I found it vague. When you attack a bandit, if they have -1 printed on their chit, does that mean YOUR attack has a +1 to hit them? And if THEY attack your pilot then that -1 means they subtract 1 from their roll? Also your pilots ata (say it’s +2) further reduces the bandits roll by 2 for a total of -3 in their roll? Thanks, I hope I was clear in my question :)

And on the flip side, if a bandit has a +1 ata then your attack would suffer a -1 to your roll? Also if your pilot has a -1 ata then a bandits attacking them would +1 to THEIR roll correct?

Hi Dale, it's been a while since I've played (I must get this on the table again!) but from what I remember, minuses on the enemy counters mean that when you are attacking you get a plus to your roll. Pluses means you get a minus. So you add up your +/- and take away enemy plusses or add enemy minuses. When the enemy attacks they add your minuses and take away your plusses - crikey, I hope that's clear (and correct)!!

Might have missed this..but did you give stress markers to the pilots as relates to the zone they were flying in? And why were 2 dice allowed to be tossed during an AtG attack...sorry if I’m asking a ton of questions..have a service related hearing loss and sometimes,even with CC turned on...it just don’t translate correctly..thanks again

Hi Tom, not a problem - happy to help (if my videos help you to get playing, they've served their purpose). The mission stress for this particular campaign (Rabaul) is 2 for ALL missions (on other campaigns it varies depending on the distance flown). As regards the second point, if I understand correctly, the enemy attacking threw 2 dice because some of my pilots have the 'Agile' skill which allows them to use evasion and throw 2 dice and pick the lower one without having to pay a stress - any pilot can evade but will have to pay a stress if they don't have this skill (page 29 of the rules, although re-reading them it appears you can only use evasion when over target). Hope this is of help :)

@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer thank you...another question..there appears to be a bonus of SO points for ranimiaing your pilots..I see you subscribe to that..but I didn’t see you apply any bonus at all..did I miss it..or do other qualifications apply?

@@tommanning7688 do you mean randomising pilots? If so, an explanation of the bonus SO points was briefly shown at the beginning of the first video - I have posted a link to the app I use to randomise my pilots in answer to your question on the Corsair Leader Facebook page.

Okay..I give up..! Would you be kind enough to reference the source of the Agile skill that allows 2dice to be tossed?Cannot find anything in the rules or players aid card referencing that..in fact a more detailed explanation of these skills,other than the PA card would be appreciated..Thank you..

@@tommanning7688 There is something called 'Evasion' in the rules which allows any pilot to roll 2 dice when attacked by a site or bandit and take the lower dice roll as the result - however, you have to give 1 stress to a pilot that uses Evasion (page 29 in the rules). The Agile skill lets the pilot use Evasion without having to pay a stress. Hope that helps, Tom.

Great video..however,I have a question...did I read somewhere in the rules that pilots can only fly 1 mission per day?or was I dreaming? Or does that rule only apply to secondary missions? Thanks

Hi Tom, pilots can indeed only fly one mission per day, so if you fly a secondary mission that day those pilots aren't available (primary and secondary missions are flown simultaneously) - hope I didn't mess up!

@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer nope,my mistake ,I realized you were flying day 2 ..mea culpa...but why did you elect to fly only one mission on day one! Did the Naval target on day one prohibit you in any way from doing so? Thanks

@@tommanning7688 , no problem. The Rabaul Campaign card had an 'Intel' of 1, which meant I could only draw 1 mission card.
