New Tool Album Update March 2018

Think of all the Tool fans who have passed away since the release of the last album that will never get to hear the new album. For all humanity, release it already.

Besides, Maynard is not the only one doing "his" stuff. Danny is busy with the Legend of the seagullmen, and as far as i know Adam is always busy doing a lot of art projects and whatever he keeps on doing while everyone of us is sitting and waiting. And i believe Justin is also involved on other music projects. So, here is the time people should stop pointing the finger at Maynard for doing what he wants. We as the audience have no right to demand anything from the artists, as needy and greedy we may be to hear new material. As far as i am concerned, and believe me i'm a huge fan, they can take another year or more to deliver what they think will be better or best according to them and their high standards. At least they don't release an album every one or two year, and they're beyond commercial, liberal and easy producing. In other words, i don't think they care about how sad or angry people are at them, THEY are in charge if everything, and honestly it is kind of reassuring. Ftw.

I think Tool is one of those few bands that could continue with out a lead singer. Every member is extremely talented as we all know. An instrumental album could lead to a beautiful stage show.

It's been more than a decade and he's the one responding to every question asked by fans while also trying to live his own life and having other bands. I don't think it would be a problem for Tool make 5 albums during this time but so far I can see that MJK is constantly waiting Adam to get his music done. I think Maynard is pissed and tired because all of this and wants it to be done and as you can see he's managed to get his parts ready and it didn't take him years lol

It really wouldn't be logical for Tool to compete with APC so close together. APC already has a confirmed release date in April and they will tour to promote it. Expecting a Tool release in late 2019 to give Maynard a break after the APC tour. It will be best in the long run for the live Tool shows.

Danny Carrey is on the record as saying (paraphrased) - “everyone in the band is in their early to late 50’s, two members have new babies (Adam Jones & Maynard), & we all have our own projects separate from Tool. So it’s just getting harder and harder to get everyone together and in a creative mode.” Adam Jones is on the record as saying (paraphrased) “Honestly, we all live pretty cushy lives and we’re not in a big rush to put an album out like we used to be when we were hungry” - Saying all that, don’t put this on Maynard. He’s on record looomg ago as saying that he is fidgety and didn’t want to wait on a lawsuit to be over to make music so he put together APC. And he started his vineyard because he said in 2004ish that the “music industry is crumbling down all around him” (this was at the dawn of social media and music ripping and he could already see the trend, smart business move) so he had to start another business to make sure he could afford his style of life. My guess is this’ll be the last Tool offering. Danny Carry is 60 fucking years old, I mean come on. In another 15 years they won’t even be able to play music anymore. Give the guys a break.

Maynard replied to me yesterday on Twitter. I asked even with the news about people getting kicked out of APC shows for using their phones, if I could take at least 5-6 pictures during the entire show. He replied "No.". Now I know. 0 pictures. I asked because I wasn't too sure if people got kicked because they wouldn't put down their phones, because they kept filming or taking pictures multiple times or also because people were texting and such.

Let Maynard be the crazy bastard that he is. I hope I never meet him in person. I just love what he does. I love his fearlessness. I love his ability to face himself because it gives me the courage to do the same. I can’t count how many times I’ve been on the brink of suicide and put on ‘Reflection’ and just wept when it hits the bridge. He would read this comment and laugh and think I’m an idiot for idolizing him. But that’s not the point. The point is that his music unites people, helps people, gives hope, etc. I’m glad it’s taken over a decade. Trash bands put out records every other year and never take time to properly reflect and make sure that what they’re putting out is their best work. The fact that Tool has that kind of patience and care for what they do is what makes them the greatest band to ever walk the Earth (IMO)
