Eastwood and Harbor freight use the same company in China. They also make it for some other companies as well. Thanks for sharing!! My cousin restores muscle cars and ho soaks his parts in vinegar overnight. Maybe some towels soaked in vinegar to lay in the hard to reach areas.

It looks like the eastwood drums will fit. The wire wheel drum is usefull. Only thing i wonder is how good is the motor and gears compared to eastwood's . If you using it on an auto body the duty cycle matters. Of course thats where those expended warranties come in. A must have as i can see frying a few bauers up 😂.

Handle is On backwards if you reverse it puts more head pressure down on the drum for better sand cut in but great video keep up the great work thanks

Can you get the 90 degree end of a flat pry bar into the gas tank opening to pull up and support the dent from inside while you tap it flat from the outside?

Possibly. I havent investigated it much yet. I'm slowly getting some of the old bolts out.

Can you use the Eastwood SCT drums on this tool? Harbor Freight does not sell additional drums for this tool...currently

From others reviews, yes. I have not personally tested them yet.

If they produced a soft drum made of sponge and grit, this would work great on wood and cabinet doors.

there is a kit that turns your angle grinder into the same tool for$50 and in my case i have a beefy dewalt 7" or a beast hilti 5" so it made sense to go with that
@ASliceofWoodWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
I have never seen such a kit, thanks for sharing
@mikemcdonough17932 жыл бұрын
I have one of those Kits, you will also need a Router Speed Controller for it, there are No Drive Keys in it so the Drum will Spin if not tight enough. Went with the HF, much better. 119. with a Coupon.

I've seen a lot of welding videos on KZbin and it seems that none of the welders have a tool like this- everyone seems to use flap disks on an angle grinder to clean the surface of their metal before welding. What is the advantage of this drum tool over using an angle grinder?
@ASliceofWoodWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
I have an angle grinder as well. Most of the time it is tilted so your aren't using as much pad as you think. This lays flat and covers the entire 4" you are running over.
@drstampfli2 жыл бұрын
I have both now. They are each better at different things. The surface conditioner is great for mostly flat surfaces, and it seems quicker, more control, and fewer grinding marks (no swirls)

Exactly. Thanks for the additional input

I saw one guy demonstrate one of these and he was doing it on the frame of the truck he was going to redo I don’t think he can get all the little spots you need to get. And I don’t know who gets sponsored on here and who doesn’t. I also wonder if a guy couldn’t just buy the drums and fasten your own tool without spending $150 on those. I’ve got metal eaves that I wanna redo and repaint I thought this might work but I’m Skeptical.

NO SWIRL MARKS, AND EASIER TO CONTROL!!

Left handed thread is to keep the drum from flying off when it binds. Instead of loosening it tightens

@@ASliceofWoodWorkshop I just looked again. It's still priced at $180 showing the original price with a line thru it. It kind of looks like a sale, but it's been that price since about the time Harbor Freight started getting stock.

Current price is $150 Bauer with 90 day warranty. Eastwood is $190 with 3 year warranty.

Is that $190 on the sale or actual price.
@keithbell45432 жыл бұрын
@@ASliceofWoodWorkshop Who cares? $190 is the actual price you pay today. I bought a $65 version with a terrible handle. I figured out the handle and it works just fine. The handle design on these is much better.
@ASliceofWoodWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
No, I agree that if you can find it for the $190 price with warranty that is the better deal, however, if you compare the two and have to spend another almost $100 on the Eastwood (when at regular price) then I would go with the Bauer
@keithbell45432 жыл бұрын
@@ASliceofWoodWorkshop The normal price for the Eastwood is $200. Their price for abrasive drums is too high for my taste.
