3:30 Hi Mat ! I just want to let you know that these Toyota’s S mode stands for sequential (kinda manuall). In Toyota’s these transmissions mostly acts as a gear limiter meaning that if you put it in 2-3or 4 for example the transmission will shift normally until the selected gear on the display on the dashboard. However the S actually makes the car a little more sporty because you can hold the gears a little longer than if it was in D (Normal mode) . I can tell because I have a 2015. Rav4 with practically the same gearbox with P-R-N-D and S (+/- ) on the side. And also the car goes in S4 because it’s a safety measure to prevent any damage to the transmission while switching from D to S while drive for example. Hope that helps you understand 😁 . And I hope you’ll see this message 😁👍🏾

The power mode button slows down the hilux, we use the button for pulling out trailers or other cars stuck in mud. For speed, switch off eco mode and power mode, put the gear into sport

I'd take the Hilux all day long. Engines go on forever, off roads as good as a land rover or jeep. My dad owns a 5th gen (2007) with 249,000 miles, only problem it has ever had is that the fuel pump has developed a leak. Other than that, runs like new! Also regularly carries a tonne on the back, and is more than capable of towing daily

Good race, and agree with Mat -> 6:05 Warranty, yes! It matters more than anything, been driving VW for 12 years, the 3 year warranty is perfectly timed. The day you pass the warranty, bigger things start breaking... Also Toyotas are typically easier and cheaper to maintain.

Its a VW it probably has a plastic intake, sump, tie rods, waterpump and is essentially a penny pinched pile of shite made by complete assholes.

Amarok has been around since 2016 and you've had to change a head gasket?? If so, that's outrageous and an indicator of terrible build quality.
