Why were the contestants on THE NEW TREASURE HUNT all women?

The creator of the show, Chuck Barris, felt because of the "teasing" nature of the show, a woman would take it better if led to think she was getting a car and got a baby buggy (for example). His fear was a man would get angry and punch Geoff Edwards, so therefore no male contestants.
