I built a boom like that on my 1952 m37 to hang steel for my shop.. Truck is still being used as a crane to this very day.. Cheers; Mike in Louisiana

The front glass has probably been replaced some time ago. That a neat truck though. I said the glass was replaced because in old trucks like that if it has original glass it will usually separate on the inside turning the windshield frosty white.

When I store an engine outside, I cut a 55 gallon barrel in half which makes two engine covers. Most of the time there isn't a need to cut out the barrel ends. If engine is a V8 or V6 I cut the barrel ends out and flatten the barrel to the correct width. Works on transmissions too.

I drove a 1950 Dodge 3/4 ton PU so I can relate to your trucks. The vast room in the cab and the engine well is hard to get in videos. And yes, this one is nice.

Youre lucky man, i know farmers with like 6 of these per field and they wont sell. "Oh ima fix it someday" while you hear the truck crying. Id love to have one (mainer here, hence the name). I love seeing the ingenuity you Alaskans have. Especially Ethal😂😂😂 Ethal holds a special place with me cause my 78 is very relatable to er

Nice truck and spare parts for the money. It’s a multi -useful truck with quite a history. The stories it could tell if it could talk !! Will be interesting to see what you do with it.

Envy you man - I wish I could have landed somewhere like where you are. Thanks for bringing us along! Something to consider on you fuel system, if you put the fuel filter on the suction side of the fuel pump it will keep crap in the fuel system out of the pump. I've done this on many vehicles thru the years and saved a bunch of fuel pumps. Thanks for the video!

So cool that you are rehoming these awesome historic vehicles, will anyone be dragging a Mazda out of the woods in 70 years from now and getting it running on its own fuel tank with a few hours work?.

Great rig. I just picked up a 41’ or 42’ with dual rear axles and the same boom setup only mine has the boom off the back with a Garwood winch and also has a hand winch for raising/lowering the boom. It had been sitting for about 8- 10 years but with a little oil down the cylinders, a battery and a set of points it fired up a runs great. Everything works except the clutch. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and watching videos but I’m still not sure which one I need or where I can find either a replacement a rebuild or what the options are. Anyway, I’ve already learned a bunch from your channel and figured I’d ask you in the hopes that you might be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks…

Great find B.A. I watched your video about the "girl wanted" truck. Both are pretty good. If you need help with parts or advice on mechanical issues, let me know. Here is a link to my Chevy. I hope you watch it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXatZIl_fZl-ncU... P.S., I have a spare driver door that is in pretty good shape if you need it.
