Will there be cures? Yes, but not for all the different Genetic Damage as people DIFFER Genetically from each other just in their cellular sequences alone and the causations will be different as well. It means the cures must be customized from person to person in most cases. Can AI do this? Maybe. Do not count on it for all be all. If the cost is low enough then sure their is a chance. Sometimes yes. Most of the times NO. China today came out with the most Advanced AI Algorithm as of today that cost the USA almost 1 Trillion USD in Investments, becuase they are beating us in this commercial market; so NO the USA does not lead AI as of the time of this writting anymore. Now the danger is that if we integrated AI into Robotics in the future wecould cause our own extinction event unless we work Human Mercy and Morality into these machines. Given that humans exhibit the different foms of Fear like Ego, greed, Anger, Lust, ...etc., then so too will our wares. Walter I wish you'd clarify the fact that the SSA does not award SSDI benefits solely for being an addict or alcoholic. Infact SSA frowns upon drug&alcohol abuse. However for example if the drug or alcohol abuse causes a disabling condition such as heart failure that would be a condition that you may be awarded benefits for. My big concern is the fact that I was put on disability for psychiatric reasons. But, now 7 years out, I have several permanent physical issues that I'm dealing with. So now what? I can't physically do it anymore. I have severe degenerative disc disease, on top of heart issues. My only alternative to losing my disability benefits, would be to find the highest building in town, pretend I'm bungee jumping, without a cord, and say adios.

EXACTLY! I DETEST TRUMP ! I'm in chronic pain all the time from a fall on the ice which torqued my Sacroiliac Joint. I've been in pain now for 20yrs. I'm 57 and I've literally tried everything to get rid of this pain. 3 titanium rods in my SI Joint was a failed surgery cause it didn't help, I've had the spinal cord Stimulator that stopped helping after awhile. I've had a Pain Pump and same thing it stopped helping so I had it removed. I've tried physical therapy, aqua therapy, massage, right now I just had surgery for a Peripheral Nerve Stimulator on Dec 3rd it hasn't worked right since I got it! The trail worked which is exactly what happened with the Pain Pump Spinal Cord Stimulator. I don't know what the hell they think will possibly help when I've tried just about everything. I have bone on bone knee problems also. It took me 3 yrs to get disability and I don't know what I would do if I lost it! I'm so stressed over this 😪

I'm going to die. I've been waiting on receiving disability since 2020. They say I am not disabled. Complete heart failure and heart block. I've already died twice. I can't walk 5 feet without exhaustion, and that's with my walker. I owe hundreds of thousands in medical bills. I worked all my life. Raised a Marine on my own, no government help. Now this. I've been without meds for almost 2 years coz I can't afford follow up visits. Oh and I'm inTexas. The worst possible place for this. I do not qualify for Medicaid. Tried ACA but since I don't work, I have no tax return so they want me to pay in full for any coverage. My son is working and keeping a roof over our heads. I just don't care anymore. I'll be 65 in a couple of months and don't expect to see 66. I'm glad my parents aren't alive to see what's happening in this country. My ancestors were on The Mayflower. We already use AI to help prevent medication errors. We use AI to determine severity of illness and the risk that the patient will arrest in 8 or 24 hours. It has improved care, not replaced it. I’ve worked with he homeless for many years. I’m 75 now and can’t walk so had to stop. One of the things I learned about the homeless was most are addicted to alcohol or narcotics and/or have some sort of mental health issue. They all received Social Security disability for these addictions. As a matter of fact, it is easier to get disability for addiction then most other types of issues. If payments are taken away from people with others types of disabilities before they can actually be cured, they will just become part of the homeless population. They would have no other choice.

I was disabled due to being a passenger in a car that smashed into a tree. I have multiple fusions in my spine, my jaw needed double bilateral arthroplasty with a prosthetic joint on one side, and other issues from this accident. Then, from the trauma, and who knows how I got diagnosed with SLE. If AI can fix my injuries and cure my from what I understand an incurable autoimmune disease, I fully support it. I would love to go back to work. I would love not to wake up in the middle of the night from an attack in my legs from this accident. If this is real, I'm all about it! Please fix me 🙏

The problem is more complicated than one would think. You work, forced to pay into the system including disability, but when you work your whole life, get chronic back problems or fibromyalgia, etc, apply for a benefits, then you have to fight them with a lawyer to get what you paid for. Then, if you didn’t work a high paying career, your benefits are to low to live on, but they won’t let you work part time to supplement your income without kicking you off. You don’t earn enough on disability but can’t work enough off disability to live, if at all. The next side is 100’ of 1000’s are on disability and nothing is wrong with them. It’s a broken system. What they should have done, and should do going forward, take the money out since people won;t do it on their own, buy a guaranteed issue disability which they could easily do with 16 year olds and up, and everyone in a giant group. Then, if you really are disabled, just have your doctors, declare it if obvious, then no more lawyers on the dole with the crooked way it is done now to force you to get a lawyer, drag out long enough for them to get their max pay, then settle. It is a racket.

Amen! Some people haven't worked in a long time. If they get cured there needs to be some kind of guarantee that they will get hired for a job that they can actually live on the pay. What about people who have part-time jobs on disability? Because they can't work full time, it's too much on their bodies but they can work some but it's not enough money. What if someone is cured and wants to go into an entirely different field now that they physically feel better, maybe they want to do a different job that they feel as they're calling but have no experience in it. What about that? There needs to be some sort of rule that companies must hire these people once they get better. Otherwise they won't have benefits and they will be unhirable.

There is a hospital in Green Valley area, called the Santa Cruz Valley Hospital on the outskirts of town, it has been closed for several years. Was built since I have been in SE AZ within the past 8 years ... then they closed it, in 2023. Go figure. Brand new facility. The owning investors where the payments, billings, etc. are from is in Phoenix. Way up north. There are NO facilities within an hour's drive from here in SE AZ. So bizarre to think they shut this place down! It was virtually empty during 2021.

I have MS too. Doctors ignored my symptoms for years. I got ovarian and colon cancer on top of everything that made my MS unbearable. By the time I found the right MS doctor my brain now has a black hole. I have so many symptoms that never went away. I can't see AI fixing me. I also have depression.

A cure for my disability would be fantastic. That said - finding a cure for anything takes TIME. New paradigms need to be TESTED before they can be relied upon. Furthermore, this testing of medical advancements generally takes longer than four years. That being the case, it seems like it's a bit early to be talking about dismantling SSDI before ANY of these theoretical advancements have even manifested, let alone been tested.

Maybe AI will help. However, I think that since there is so little research into real cures, AI will mirror the nonsense and dysfunctional style of conventional medical care that we now have. It might do it in a more complicated style, but it will still be totally dysfunctional. Therefore, AI will not solve cancer or any other chronic condition. And since chronic diseases like depression cannot be solved, we will still need disability benefits. Also, the AI solutions might make things worse if it mirrors current care. AI will make treatments more expensive and simultaneously make people more sick, but now the computer will be leading the way.
