I’m a former military officer, but I’m pretty much in the “poor” category since I’m now handicap and I can’t work anymore… so I clearly can’t afford all the nice and expensive watches I would love to…. never could. And yet, I’m currently saving to purchase my first luxury watch, the Tudor BB58 GMT Coke. I really love this watch and really want it, so it’s gonna be worth few sacrifices to get it. This FXD has made me sit up and pay attention, great specs, great design, and as a frequent traveller, the GMT is a massive bonus. This piece looks amazing. If it feels good on the wrist, and if it’s a true GMT movement, have to say, I might be getting my first ever Tudor. They killed it with this design, it just looks gorgeous! Auntie Britt!! This is an amazing release. A Gringa Mean Time watch is exactly what the FXD line needed. One feature that I really like, and you need Editing Britt to save you, is the two different lume colors. The lume of the FXD line has always been one of my favorite aspects of the line, and having the blue and green lume makes this watch pop to me. Long live the Cult(s) and 4:30 date windows.
@MaurizioGioliАй бұрын
I had the pelagos 42mm and the LHD 42mm, the Pespi GMT and the Opaline GMT, I thried the FXD models including the Alinghi but they never got me interested enough to buy any of them, despite loving the thinner case and the better wearability. I eventually gave up and decided to wait for a Metas Pelagos to come out...untillnow! This one (to me at least) is the perfect combination of both worlds, the look of the LHD, less writing on the dial, 24hrs bezel with GMT function and a better strap to start with (not a big fun of the way that the velcro ages). So...I am already waiting for my allocation. Great video as always Britt! ;)

Dear Britt, detected your channel during my holidays in Fuerteventura and liked it immediately. The way you talk about watches is absolutely what I can listen to for hours (what I did 🤣during my holidays) Having an Omega Seamaster James Bond since 2002 as my main watch (I wear it every day - love it even more since I watched your video about it), a Rolex Datejust 36 (bought in 1999) as my secondary and a Longines Lindbergh (bought in 1995) as my dress watch, there was no need for me to dig deeper into watches since then. 15 Years ago I thought it would be a good idea to add a GMT to this 3 but both the Rolex GMT Master 2 and the Explorer 2 are way to big for my very small wrist (17 cm) and in others I was not interested. So I let this thought go and forgot about it - until my daughter got married in Vancouver in 2022. To manage better the difference of 9 hours my interest in a GMT came back. I was shocked about the prices they are calling for watches right now. Waiting lists and best connections to your AD are required to get an Explorer 2 or GMT Master - that's not what I would like to follow. I was looking for other brands and detected the Tudor Black Bay GMT. Liked it, tried it, but it was way too big for my wrist. Then I tried the Black Bay Pro. Size was perfect, but it was way too thick for my small wrist. Don't want to spend 4k€ for a watch I'm not 100% convinced about. Still no GMT for me... But then there was this Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT coming out. It ticked all my boxes and is now the watch I will check out next week, when I'm in Frankfurt at the Tudor Store. I'm not able to buy it immediately but if it fits, I'll set up a savings account for the missing money. Why I'm writing this: The FXD GMT is a nice watch, for sure, but if your heart is with BB 58 GMT why changing your mind. There are soooo many nice watches on the market right now (thanks to your channel I know about) so you can challenge your favorite with every new release or you stick to your choice. I think the BB58 GMT has a good chance to get a place in your heart and your collection like your Cartier Tank got. Keep on your good work - I'm very excited about each new video. Cheers Ritchie

I do understand that bracelets are what some are looking for, but as an active person and commercial diver who has almost lost two watches overboard because of spring-bar failures under load, I love the concept of the FXD and this watch has got me seriously considering making the move on Tudor for the first time. I'm all into vintage Rolex and Tudor and really don't want anything past 2003 models without drilled lugs. I atually prefer the 60's vintage models but one thing I spoted on the Pelogos line that no one talks about is the pointed crown guards which Rolex and Tudor had on the first crown guard subs beginning in 1959 through 1963. The first was actually a very short lived boxed crown guard and then pointed. Rolex was experimenting with the ease of access to the crown and in my opinion, pointed is not only the sexiest, it makes the most sence for access but after 1963 they went with the tradional rounded. I'd love to own a pointed grown guard 5512, 5513 or 7928 but the are 15k and above but at least Tudor properly brought them back.

Amazing release and perfect next move from Tudor. But also, petition to stop using the term “fauxtina” when it doesn’t apply? There’s no added wear n tear to this watch to fake aging, and the lume doesn’t even look like aged tritium, it’s just beige-ish. And looks fantastic, might I add!

The FXDGMT is a good idea and a useful complication. and far more useful for most folks. But i really hated the date complication. they could have made it to blend in with the dial so it does not stick out so much. although i would much prefer Not having a date complication. I love the thinner case and the new non velcro strap and yes, its a MN and that is a plus, i have no issues with the 42mm watch diameter as the FXD despite its size does not wear big, and it was made to be legible for marine aviators. overall i am ambivalent over this as i find it too expensive, still this is a better FXD than the Red Bull FXD chrono which i did not like

Is the METAS certification worth extra money? Or is Tudor certifying movements that would meet the criteria anyway only to charge more for it now. Really love this Tudor, only not sure about the fixed strap bars as you're mainly dependent on nato straps and I think this would do really on other strap types as well.
@crimclay1077Ай бұрын
Almost all their watches would meet the metas criteria anyways. It’s just to take a jab at omega. And only Swiss companies can apply for metas. Companies from other countries can not apply for metas so doesn’t mean cuz some watches can’t claim it that they wouldn’t perform to metas certification if from outside of Switzerland

I like the blue FXD a lot, but this just…something about it, or rather, nothing about it works for me. I’ve almost bought a blue FXD about 10 times this year, but this FXD GMT definitely doesn’t raise the blood pressure for me, nor would it unseat my Tudor Diet Pepsi as my go to GMT watch. Excited about the movement, but everything else I can do away with. It was really nice to hear the personal story of you and your husband and the Royal Navy, though. I’m also from a military family, my grandfather, who sadly was KIA before I was born, but I feel a strong connection to the military because of him. I think you could pull off the size though, the fixed bars make the watch more wearable on smaller wrists than you’d expect sometimes.

Thanks for another fun review, Britt! I also kind of like fauxtina on the right watch, which to me this is. I'm glad Tudor is at least mixing things up a little. However, that being said, I find it hard to get excited about an overall design that would probably receive a meh if it came from a microbrand (sorry!). Also, did you happen to watch Mike's take on Metas? He raised some interesting points regarding the perceived versus added value of that certification.
