New Twist In Kano As Court Suspends Reinstatement Of Sanusi As Emir

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has granted an order suspending the implementation of the repealed Kano Emirates law which allowed the reinstatement of a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as the Emir of Kano.
The Sarkin Dawaki Babba had gone to court to stop the government's decision.
He joined the State government, the State Assembly and Speaker, the Attorney-General of the state, the Commissioner of Police, and the Inspector-General of Police, as respondents in the suit.
