A new state law is requiring social media companies to do more to protect children. However, a judge limited how much of the SCOPE Act can be enforced.

This is a step in the right direction. Now how about take care of the adults/parents that sexually exploit their children on social media. Posting “content” of their kids to sell is sickening. Sometimes it’s just family life stuff, others the parents are practically making a OF for their kid.

Parents should be jailed for 7 years and the children should go to the state 14 for second offense and 21 for thrid offense that would make parents more aware of the dangers and if they got there children back it would teach them a lesson tbh

While this should be national, a better approach would be for the parents to tell the kids "If I don't get to see your online activity then you don't get to see your computer, your phone or anything that connects to the internet and your stuff will be locked up until you change your mind". And then they should lock the stuff up where the kids can't get to it or find it.

I think parents should be on their child’s media page till the said child is 21 (adult) Checking it several times a day to see what’s up with the interactions. The child won’t mind as long as they aren’t doing anything risky or sneaky. If the child gets defensive, then there’s your first clue they are being deceptive. It’s the only way to protect them from the bullying, grooming, and sexual predators! It’s for their own good!

Nice in concept but I don't see how it will be effective. Like, how do you keep a kid from faking parental consent? The only way to effectively keep kids of dangerous media is for parents to be held accountable and have them actually pay attention to what media their kids are consuming.

Play like an adult, get charged like an adult. I'm guessing if SIM cards came in 21 and over versions that only adults could buy with ID, this could be fixed pretty easy. Just like cigs or alcohol.
