Went and looked up the devs: they are based out of Tallinn, Estonia. But yes, Hopfen, Malz and Dorf are indeed German words and the way they have been mashed together is correct German grammar. So they have some German influences at least.

Its likely they have set the game in the HRE hence the german names.

Maybe the demo will tempt me. I love both the concept and as a general rule I like playing early access games (get the game cheap, get 10ish hours of fun now out of them, then hope to be blown away 18-24 months down the line with the difference). But IDK, from what I've seen something hasn't quite sparked me, which is odd because based on the games I like and the idea of this, I should be excited.
