exactly. I'm playing Atomic heart in VR with UEVR - Amazing graphics UE5 I think but its missing something. I had much more fun playing No-one lives forever and Prey 2006 in VR.
@leeuniverseАй бұрын
The last 3 Tomb Raiders I thought had good soul. I mean they were an absolutely amazing experience to me, especially the second one and slightly less so the last one. So did Jedi Fallen Order, though Survivor is kinda sucking so far, too much "open world" and gathering type of play rather than a "Star Wars" experience and Soul like Fallen Order felt. I'm really liking the "Movie" type of experience in gaming.... really FEELING stuff. Good Graphics are an important part of the experience. I can't stand many games that might be good today look like they were made with 20 years ago Graphics. I just have no interest in playing them. I already lived through 20 years ago. Don't with it LOL.
@andrasbradacs6016Ай бұрын
@@leeuniverse I’m not saying that there are no exceptions. For example I really loved the story of the “second” COD series (5, BO,BO2), but I just remember that back in the 00’s only a few games came out in a year and we just waiting for them as some kind of messiah… they were finished, well created games. Nowadays, games come almost on an assembly line, in a half-finished state and they are almost the same with different sets of models. The best part is that the alpha games are also thrown out as if they are ready, they charge a lot of money for them and they don't provide anywhere near the experience they are supposed to provide...

I noted there are no collision meshes for the plants. He walked through branches instead of pushing them out of the way. Now, can this be rendered in-game in real time on a moderate gaming rig? Or, will you need that RTX 4090. Perhaps even the announced RTX 50xx series.
@MrOgger1512 ай бұрын
Zero movement on plants makes it not so realistic. Like everything was frozen in place.
@MarkMiller743 ай бұрын
Nowadays there are games with very similar quality; in fact, it's increasingly less noticeable with the new graphics engines. I believe that in another generation, there won't really be any difference. We are very close to photorealism already. When it truly arrives and you can play in 4K at a good frame rate, what will come next? 8K, 20K? There are fewer and fewer real options that are genuinely surprising to want to raise the graphical level. There will come a time in a short period when graphics card manufacturers will find it truly difficult to convince us that more is better. Everything has a limit. I've always said there's no real practical difference in drinking water from a gold faucet. The same will happen with everything; we'll realize that something we can't appreciate isn't necessary. Is there really a real and tangible difference that a human can appreciate between seeing something in 4K or 8K? They'll probably sell us ray tracing 4.0, 5.0, and similarly nonsensical things

We're a VERY long way from replicating the colors your eyes can perceive. HDR does nothing.
@MarkMiller743 ай бұрын
@@Viscte I don't think replicating colors requires as much computing power as high-resolution textures or playing games in 4K or 8K. We're not too far from achieving maximum realism. Maybe just a couple more generations will be enough. Beyond that, it'll just be wasting money and following cheap marketing trends. I still enjoy good games that came out five years ago, and I don't find anything lacking in them compared to some of the current ones. The technical gap between them is getting smaller and smaller.

The visual update is encouraging. As 1,2 &3 were classics, I appreciate the dedication to authenticity. But 4, 5 and AoD were flawed. The Devs should take more freedom and liberties with there remasters. (For example, Lora should be given a way to beat Anubis that doesn't involve the death of Lora. IMMHO). Upping the graphics is a nice step, so long as the grid based platforming is preserved.
