Great to see some love for Robocop 2014!! I really appreciate it and think it is underrated. I prefer the gritty original but weirdly the movie works as a cleaner, slick version. Oldman and Kinnaman are excellent.

You asked, so I'll answer. I actually prefer Robocop 2 over the original. Not by much, and I absolutely love them both. Also, great news about the upcoming Robocop 3. I am stoked that I will have them all in 4K. I'm so ready for Terminator and Terminator 3 to release their 4K treatments as well.

😉Thanks for sharing & I agree the RoboCop series is a big favorite of mine too & I really hoping we can get all the RoboCop Prime Directives movies on 4K UltraHD💿 or even Blu Ray💿 one day soon because I liked those also & feel they deserve to be released in better quality than the extremely poor & old DVD transfers!! It has a few things that I would have changed, but I definitely enjoyed it. I'm excited to check out the new transfer.

I'm really looking to purchase the 2014 version. It's actually one of the better remakes. I am genuinely grateful you liked the Robocop remake. I really liked it and liked that it was different instead of repeating every single beat like what other remakes do. I swear this remake gets over-shit on too much!

Never heard of Matninee. People seem to like it and I don’t have enough Comedy’s, probably about 5 in my 400+ 4K collection, so it’s a buy. Never seen Robocop reboot either, got the Original, so I’ll buy 2 as well.

Never seen Matinee but I will probably buy it soon as I do enjoy all of Joe Dante's films that I have seen and your review definitely sounds like it will be worthwhile. Hopefully we get a 4K of Explorers next... Pre-ordered RoboCop 2014 and RoboCop (2014) as soon as I could. Looking forward to checking them out and hoping that RoboCop 3 isn't too far away. The first film is easily my favourite of them all though.

Good reviews as always. As a UK collector, I really appreciate your inclusion of Region Code restrictions. It really frustrates me that they still persist in locking the accompanying Blu-Ray, but thanks to your heads up, I can make an informed choice between waiting to see if we get a Region B release or to go for import. FYI … for import, I prefer to use WOWHD rather than Amazon … prices are usually similar, but I consider the packaging to be superior from WOW. Amazon US insist on mailing using flimsy plastic bags which often get torn and damaged by the time they reach me. WOW use a more compact packaging which seems to suffer fewer problems. WOW shipping also seems to be more direct … Amazon shipping always seems to hang around in NewYork for several days and uses more agents in the chain. Keep up the good work …

So the Matinee blueray says it has Mant as a standalone, does the 4K have it to watch as well? If not what's the point of buying a 4k if they took off stuff?

So how is any of this good news ? Bc first off there is no first time catalog titles being released either on bluray or 4k just releases of movies already have a bluray release but now getting a 4k release at a higher price tag. This is why the bluray & 4k format has never taken off like the DVD format did. And bluray & 4k will always be second to the DVD format & this is sad bc after 10 years plus on the market blurays & 4ks still are behind DVDs on the market sales.

There's a standard edition. It drops a disc and doesn't even have a slipcover though, so I totally get not wanting the best one in a basic case and missing content 🙁

Matinee on 4K? Great! Hopefully this time around, classic character actor William Shallert will get his name in the credits !!! On DVD and BD they kept cutting him out, even though he has a significant enough role.
