I don’t get why the dancer felt she had such a strong case, the artists who create the character designs and models don’t get credit when the character is released, why would the person they referenced for the characters movement get any? I get that she doesn’t work for Hoyo, and the artists do, but they gather refrence from all sorts of sources. The little TikTok video you filmed of a non-choreographed, non-competition dance isn’t going to give you any copyright claims. Hoyo might change it if she’s famous because they don’t want backlash, but she doesn’t have a right to their money based on all the copyright laws I know of.

@@RohitSingh-rw8cz the VA’s are a different situation. They are striking to put their terms into the onctracts they have, and that strike involves ALL companies that use VA’s and don’t have anti-AI language in their contracts. She never signed a contract with Hoyo, so she is in a different situation. While I think it is wrong for them to fully copy her and never send any communication, I don’t see her having a legal case against them. Anyone can copy a dance/movement, they could have paid a stunt actor to mimic it in a more controlled setting to scan, she has no right to claim those specific movements as hers, and only hers, in a legal sense, which I think is the angle she’s going for. Even dances in competitions can’t be sued about in court for copyright (from my understanding) because its a movement anyone can do. She posted a maybe 15 sec clip to a public social media of a random dance she was vibing to, unfortunately, I don’t see her beating such a large company like Hoyo unless she has a very strong argument.
