New Update! Genshin 2 is Officially Confirmed!? Release Date, MC, Lore Speculations - Genshin Impact

Hello everyone!
Recently, the developers of Genshin Impact officially hinted at the second part of the game.
so today, I will talk about what we know regarding Genshin 2. I'll talk about what type of game it will be, potential main characters, and speculate on where and when the story might unfold.
Let's start with the most crucial information, which is the announcement of the second part.
Xiao Luohao, the head of the writing team, had a discussion with students at a university.
Allow me to quickly summarize his response: the game's story is only one-third revealed to players by the conclusion of the Fontaine story; there is much more content ahead. Despite the project's story not being completed for a while yet, we have all the resources to continue it in the form of the second part of the game.
I think that's quite a hint from the developers, isn't it?
Now, let's talk about when the second part of the game might be released. Firstly, we know that we still have at least three more regions: Natlan, Snezhnaya, and the ruined Khaenri'ah. All of these will likely appear in the first part of the game. Also, we know that Natlan is scheduled to be released by the end of this summer, and typically, regions are released once a year. Theoretically, the story in Genshin should end in the year 2027.
So, the second part of the game should be released around the end of 2027 or the beginning of 2028, which is approximately 3-4 years from now, and the journey ahead is far from over.
Who is going to be the main character?
I don't think there's much to discuss here since in games from miHoYo, we play as faceless characters. What I mean is that often the MC of their games are not familiar with the game universe, and by the time the story begins, they know as little about the world as we do.
So let me speculate on who the main character might be and where the main story will take place.
The first option: the new storyline might be a prequel, meaning they will tell us what happened in Teyvat before the arrival of the Traveler and perhaps even before Celestia. We will play as characters that can be learned about from legends in the current lore.
The second option is neither a sequel nor a prequel. The plot's setting could be entirely different - on another continent or even on a planet colonized by other people, similar to Teyvat. Why not explore colonizing other planets with completely different characters, legends, laws of physics, and magic, rather than sticking solely to elements? It might be similar to honkai impact 3rd.
Well, or just make a regular sequel. But playing as the Travelers this time might not be very exciting.
And of course, let's say that when they announce Genshin 2, they will offer a variety of rewards for the first time and free pulls. So let's eagerly await the release of Genshin 2 and the reward in the form of 3 pulls!

Also it’s a good topic to talk about because Genshin is halfway done, making profit, and really popular still. That's probably the point. By separating the game into 2 parts you can have a smaller game. Remember how old games had multiple discs? It might be like that. You uninstall Genshin part 1 and only play Genshin part 2 after that.

Clearly the story telling will pick up a pace from Natlan on and so far we only learned one third of the story so far in Fontaine, his words, which makes sense given how much is still unanswered in game, like the Hexenzirkel, Venti Archon quest pt2, the Dark Sea, Dainsleif playable, Khaenriah, Natlan, Snezhnaya, Celestia, Mondstadt expansions, More Liyue expansions, Inazuma expansions, there's A LOT MORE to come still in Genshin Impact. I think you're tripping his answer means Genshin 2 but that's my take.

Personally it would be interesting if Genshin 2 was the journey of the twin who if I remember correctly started their journey in Khanriah(forgot how to spell it) and as we all know, we can't visit Kanriah or atleast Kanriah when it wasn't destroyed. We could start in Kanriah and see it get destroyed then travel from nation to nation again but with abyss powers.

From what I can remember, they said that the part 2 will still take place in Teyvat but there’ll be a time skip after the main story. How long would the time skip will be was, no answer. But it will take place sometime after part 1.

if after fontaine, the story is to be 1/3 done, i doubt there's only nathan, snaznaya and kaenrhia. a 4th region would also be required. my guess would be either somewhere in the abyss or at celestia. thing is, at that point, it would mean only 2/3 of the full story would be covered. what of the remaining part? for a long time, i've speculated that the honkai star rail story would eventualy meet the story of genshin impact. maybe that last part would be the ending of genshin impact, but also a side story to honkai star rail with the ending of genshin having the twins (lumine/either) boarding the express as nameless. maybe the twins would become aeons themselves.

I think that they will probably have us play as the other twin - something contemporaneous with the current game but from a different POV. We will start when we land on Teyvat, and then the other twin will remain sleeping, and we will experience Kae'nriah (spelling might be off), and a Teyvat that hasn't been destroyed by war. All the ruins will be new, and the archons will be young / the former archons. That's what I think. I'm not sure I'll still be playing by then - but if I am, I will be F2P for sure. Hoyo don't care about me, unfortunately. As a paying customer, you'd think they'd at least listen a little more... but NO. lol

it probably won’t be a separate game, they’ll probably just add a whole new place like how you have mondstadt, liyue, sumeru, etc. so then you could keep all the characters, which comes along with a bundle of new characters, they might continue with the storyline or just make a whole new one completely to do with the traveler, but i’m not sure 🤔

If i were to choose the story for part 2, it would sound something like when aether and lumine confront each other in celestia and sibling says, "What do you know about my struggles, huh" or something like that when heavenly principles are attacking those two and they are in a conflict, and part 1 ends. part 2 should be then following sibling's side of story and how they became the abyss prince and why they are not the descendents. Then at the end of the second part, those two are fighting against the heavenly principles and defeat them to save tevyat.

Possible the Reboot of Genshin might appeared after Khaeriah Arc. Genshin will be version 2 similar to Honkai Impact. During Genshin Impact Reboot new map expansion outside the teyvat itself (Probably Teyvat is only one World in several world we visit, might added new element similar to Skirk. New World don't have archon but having new laws.) I guess even Lumine or Aether will reboot similar what happened to Honkai Impact (But the elemental system are same but having new added element)

I think adding a second continent would be great for now. They could expand different kinds of biomes there and different kinds of civilizations. They could have traveler in the sequel but as a side character and focus on the new main character. They can also expand on the Dark Sea as well. They can bring in the surviving gods from the Archon War and get new allies and new enemies causing chaos in the new continent. There’s so many things that haven’t explored yet in Teyvet’s world based on lore especially after Khanri’ah and Celestia.

If genshin 2 actually happens, here's what I think will come: (might be so entirely wrong 💀) 1. New pulling system 2. Less characters 3. Khaenri'ah (the one before the war, also I don't know what war took place there so I might be wrong) 4. - the Traveler siblings reunite - go to another planet I don't think players have to worry about losing their Teyvat characters, since we already do exactly this in _HSR_ . The 'faceless MC' is broken in _GunGirlZ_ and _Honkai Impact 3rd_ where we play as Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zeychik. _ZZZ_ 's protagonists, Wise and Belle, may have stronger personalities than the Traveler, more similar to the Trailblazers, Caelus and Stelle.

Bro- Genshin pt 2 should be about where you play as the opposite twin and see what happened. (So for example if you played as Aether in 1st Genshin, then you would play as Lumine as the abyss princess)

The only thing we know for sure: it will have a Raiden Mei of some sort. How her name will be no one knows but she will be there.
