Three HUGE requirements for being a surrogate is you must have at least two kids first (proof your body can handle pregnancy), you can't do it for any family (it always gets messy in some way), AND the potential parents have to prove they're fit to raise the child (evaluation of mental and emotional wellness, which IVF clinics also do). OP does not meet the first two requirements, and SIL and BIL clearly don't meet the last. She needs to run. Far and fast.

Pregnancy is NOT a "small" task. Like, sure, things change over time- but if you REALLY want to base your whole life off of having a child, why the hell would you go after a girl that LITERALLY SAYS TO YOU that she never wants to have kids?? And yes, asking for your partner to have a baby and it's really only one-sided is a pretty fucking douche move and actually is risking her health, but it is doable if you want. Why is she letting her sister live with her? Why can't she stay with her dad?
@silentmuse66602 ай бұрын
I would assume it's part the sister wanting to make up for everything, and part that the (soon to be ex)BIL was probably ordered to stay away from Op or more charges would be put against him, so the sister has some level legal protection while staying with Op.

The brother in law is more obsessed with getting her pregnant than having a baby with the sister. The entire situation could have been avoided had they hired a surrogate. Pregnancy is not an easy task, you definitely should pay someone who wants to do it and can successfully carry a baby to full-term.

I still don't understand how Foster Care isnt an option here. There are millions of reported cases of infertile families adopting or opening their home to foster care only to get pregnant shortly after, and naturally too. Theres something about being thrown into the parental position that rewires the body and mind and makes it possible to get pregnant. I've literally seen it, woman only had 1 set of eggs after an accident, tried for years. She fostered 3 kids for a couple of months and BAM, preggers.
@ritaerror78292 ай бұрын
It's not a common fact (and seems pretty outlandish, no offense) Also, the BIL is clearly not in the right mind. I don't know if it's family values or whatever, but seeing misscariage as murder, and thinking he's entitled to his wife's sister isn't normal. Maybe they would pretend for a while, but no child should be near man like that

@oscillisАй бұрын
Yeah, it's like what pro-lifers always say. "We'll foster all the unwanted kids", but there will be millions. So much abuse. So stupid that people think bringing more kids into this world will be helpful for them, the kids are just going to grow up unwanted and not properly educated because foster centers are more often than not, really horrible and detrimental to their health. God, it's like putting puppies out in a fence so that potential adopters can come and buy them... Can believe the pain it'll cause more than if they were aborted before their brains developed, but I'm sure many people don't think that far.

I believe it too, mainly because it happened to me. Was with my ex husband for 6 years. Tried for 6 years and nothing. He was an abusive alcoholic gambler. Would lie to avoid work. After 3 years with my current husband, I went off birth control and fell pregnant 3 months later. My current husband rarely drinks and never gambles. He also works hard. And doesn't lie.

small task? pregnancy can literally ruin your body. My grandma had to have severe bladder surgery after my mom was born. My sister/mom and grandma all can't hold their bladder anymore. My sister had a c section and that tears through the muscle in your abdominal wall and it is very hard to regain any form of shape there. Also police are useless. Men can threaten to assault a women but god forbid she threatens to defend herself OR actually does it. well let's just say you have a higher chance of beating a redrum rap rather than him getting arrested for S/a. hell they might even care more about the women threatening a man to defend herself than the man threatening to commit s/a. Because statistically only 7 in 1000 reypes lead to conviction.

Surrogacy is not allowed for people with no children, so????? How is that selfish
@katherinehutton98702 ай бұрын
Do you know what surrogacy is? The women who will become pregnant with the baby needs to have had a baby. Not the women who can't have children but will raise the baby. The reason is you do not know how they will be during the pregnancy. It is I higher risks carry a a baby that's been implanted. To women and child, if the women has had a child those risk go down. All the would have to do is find any women willing and who has had a child. It dies not prevent the couple from that route. The BIL is just fixated on it having to be her.
@emoneestep2 ай бұрын
@@katherinehutton9870That’s not what the OP comment meant. If you are doing surrogacy through a clinic, they typically require the woman who is volunteering herself as a surrogate to have been pregnant before. Aka, the clinic wants proof that the surrogate can carry a child to term before moving forward with the procedure. The OP in the story has never been pregnant and has no children, meaning a clinic would not likely approve her for surrogacy even if she wanted to do it.

Pregnancy is beautiful but it also permanently changes your body. I want kids but I’ll never be a surrogate. I was kids but I’m pro choice. No one should carry a pregnancy they don’t want. There’s more than enough kids in the world who need homes. If you really want a kid, you’d find a way to adopt or be apart of a program where you help children.
