This crossing was upgraded in April 2022 from an Automatic Half Barrier crossing with Mk1 barriers to a Manually Controlled Full Barrier crossing, monitored by CCTV. The new crossing was installed by Atkins, with the addition of two new barriers manufactured by Newgate.
This video features the old crossing and new crossing - showing the transformation.

That's much better. Good to block all the road of from the crossing IMO so it decreases the chances of someone walking round the barriers. Solid upgrade and great video.

0:22 that was the cleanest amber to red transition ever - no double flash!

Yeah, there's a few crossings that don't flash double red and begin flashing alternately almost immediately.

Very unusual for a kevel crossing on such a minor road to be changed from AHB to MCB. I wonder if there was an incident. It leaves the Wokinghan crossing on the most minor road the only AHB on the Waterloo to Reading line when there were four, both at Wokingham which the Guildford trains missed, and two at Egham, this and Pooley Green as well.

What is the difference from the upgraded Rusham level crossing and Poole high street level crossing?

They are both quite different. Rusham has a newer model of Unipart warning lights (wigwags), as-well as having different alarms (plus two more than Poole) and different barriers. You can also tell the light sequence is a bit different.
