New Upgrades To Pliers And Scissors On Nextool's Mini Flagship!

Such a joy to see the company actually listening to their customers' feedback and improving their products to near perfection. Kudos on that, Nextool. Reiterating what's already been said by other commentators, I wish they upgraded the steel to 7cr at least for the Mini Flagship. As a happy Mini Sailor owner, I'd add this model to my collection in a heartbeat.

Another thing that could use an improvement is the file. What I suggest is that it should also have a file cut on the bottom, much like that in the SOG PowerPint for working on metal and plastic.

Very nice that they upgraded it. I ordered mine after they made the change, but guess I got the old stock. I never knew how to tell the difference until now. Thank you. The Mini Flagship and the Mini Sailor Lite are the best small offerings I've tried from Nextool. My scissors on the Mini Sailor Scissors were not good. For a small folding scissor tool, it's hard to beat the Roxon M3. Just incredible. I pair it with a Skeletool CX.

WOW! I was fortunate that I didn't buy the old version when I saw it for a good price on aliexpress the other day. I bet this is why they were on sale. I will definitely be getting one of these soon.

This is nice. I have been wanting mini tool that has good size scissors and pliers.

That is a good model, I have 2 of them by more then a year, going well for light works 👍 Excellent design and good capabilities. ...but I suggest: -better blade steels, like 10cr15mov (only on knife and scissors) -plus 2 HRCs for knife blade and scissors, for better edge retention -keeping the spring only on scissors and removing it from pliers to have tougher pliers, more robust -if possible add 20% more steel on pliers arms also to boost toughness With better blade metallurgy and tougher pliers they will become even better. Great project, required just minimal refinements 👍

Interesting, by making the spring more flexible they released some force that would normally apply at the begin of the spring where it is connected to the frame. I had bad luck that every Nextool i own has garbage files. Perhaps with the new ones my misfortune will break. ^^

Just got mine today from Amazon, they are indeed the upgraded model. Knife came shaving sharp and I'm excited overall to have a backup for when my squirt ps4 eventually dies

So is the indentation absolutely an indication of the old vs new version? I have ordered a cheap silver pair off aliexpress and also amazon uk at 3x the price. I messaged the seller who said it would he the new version, but both are old versions as they dont have the indentation! So - I will be returning them.

Really good toolset.thw colored scale is just added bulk and can be removed. Hopefully the tab fix works that was the main point of failure on the old model. Tab falls off and tool goes floppy. Used mine to death

The scissors are better on this one, otherwise I probably prefer the Mini Sailor.

I think the design has to change... i like the big scissors and pliers in a keychain multitool but just imagine a design like a Leatherman Arc mini?! Also the tools i think that should be locking and a mini bit driver should be integrated to replace the flat head and the file! Also a replaceable scalpel would be nice to have

They should do some Pro models with high quality or super steel. People want Leatherman but mini size, with good pliers and scissors. What do u guys think? Good idea?

Please tell them to upgrade their steel from 3cr to 5cr, their soft steel is the main reason I refuse to buy their products

7cr is minimum

@@TheInchii I'm not talking about the knife blade, but rather the rest of the tools. For things like the bottle opener and screwdrivers and pliers 5cr is probably roughly equivalent to 420 stainless or German 4116 which is plenty fine enough. For the knife and scissors and saw, 7cr would be preferable but I'm trying to be more realistic here

Very useful. I used it for pulling things out of small spaces. The pliers are small enough to always have on hand. I also used the pliers for turning nuts when I didn’t have any other tools at hand. I have use the pliers to grip some small tabs to open packages like drink bottle safety film.

Don't you have a older silver or black wash mini flagship with a different blade? Has more of a clip point blade rather than the sheeps foot style that the newer ones have?

why dont they just make it friction fit as MTs were in the past instead of insisting on cutting the metal to make a spring?

so avoid getting the black version until old stock is gone 🤔 kinda wasteful instead of recalling & recycling old stock. it's also unfortunate for unsuspecting customers who chose to get their product.

If those companies like daicamping also would to for 7cr/1.4110/1.4116 steel put price like 20% higher but with better steel they would ruin Leatherman and Victorinox as quality of steel js biggest issue here

@@Benzion-x3q roxon will beat Victorinox for some people as they will release modular SAK like tool. I have 3 SAKs + spirit X myself and love Vic and quality of the tools, but Vic don't do anything with innovating something new. Nobody expect from them they will release new tool or SAK every half year, but would be nice to think a bit about SAK configuration, tools maybe think about something new like serrated blade, electrician have great blade why not out it in some more SAK, new tools variation. I don't understand for example why they don't put Philips inline in more SAKs, it's a grat tool but potential is wasted to put it in, in just a few tools while they have like 40-60 models? Also bit driver from Cybertool in how many SAKs you have it 3-4? Why not make it like this, long blade, then this sheep's foot electrician knife put it in instead of short spear point blade, pliers, scissors, inline Philips with LED or Glass or something different there, I saw guy on KZbin who put Bootle opener in same layer with inline Philips that's a beautiful combo can opener is rather not that useful when you have inline Philips or bit driver, hook from compact, awl and you have great new tool, eventually you can put extra file to it I want to make tool like this myself if I get my hands on some tools, for now I plan to mod my swiss champ, and take out fish scaler and put inline Philips i the place of can opener like this I will loose only can opener and fish scaler but I also lose 2 layers which means you get handyman size tool. Or make explorer but with extra pliers deluxe explorer for example. I see 2 tools I would like, 1 like explorer but with pliers and instead of short blade electrician sheep's foot blade and eventually change inline Philips and glass for bit driver, perfect Urban sak, and another like explorer but with pliers wood saw extra and chisel when I go to countryside etc.
