Brian, I want to thank you for all your presentations. I always enjoy them, especially that there is so much to learn from you (among some other pros). I just purchased this absolutely gorgeous Tape Echo manufactured by you. In future I hope to be able to also buy the famous Tumnus and Pinnacle, and others. But that has to come with time when I can afford them, ha ha. I reckon, I am a bit of a gear freak. But I just love a good variety of sounds. Carry on with your fantastic presentations. Most guitarists need people like yourself, who not only present the gear, but also teach us newbies/beginners especially. God bless you man and your team with your families

Best delay I've ever owned. Just ordered this newest version, which will be my 3rd FTE, replacing my jhs panther cub. I have 4 amp/pedalboard setups, and I always end up moving my FTEs around to whichever amp I'm using at the time. Only other TT delay that comes close for me is the DMM. I don't care that the FTE isn't actually analog, it sounds AMAZING. Keep it up Brian.

Been playing guitar since 1967. A lot of gigs under the belt. This is one of the best tools I own. I wouldn't dream of doing a gig without it. The sound is great. I also really like the big knobs. They allow me to adjust settings on the fly with my foot. (I play a lot of gigs without my shoes on.) Love the fun video!

Finally a pedal I can use for worship. I tap most songs on the fly and use quarter and dotted eighth, having the option to switch to a diff delay is 👍. I don't need two pedals or an expensive Strymon. I must confess I own a timeline and only use three settings, I know it's overkill. This pedal is on my Christmas wish list.

As some people may not be aware of the timimng " dotted eighths " to 1/4 notes .. Ah that's why they record using certain repeats. Cheers BRIAN.

this pedal is amazing just got it. Couple of things, it was a bit intimidating seeing a bunch of control knobs, I'm a fan of simplicity, but I found myself using everything. Not the modulation too much but everything else fersure. The biggest perk that led me to pick . this over other delay pedals was that it let my amp shine through (deluxe reverb). Other pedals colored it too much.
@rockhouse908 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this awesome pedal Brian! My dad has a bunch of your pedals and this is hands down the best one he's brought home. It's the closest thing I've heard to a memory man which obviously is the gold standard of delay pedals. My question is, will there be a chorus pedal or a flanger pedal in the company's future? Hearing the modulation on the repeats on the tape echo I know you guys could make a fantastic chorus/flanger pedal

Can you use tap feature or some other method to get a slapback? I currently use two delay pedals, neither with tap, so I can have one set to slapback for country, and the other set at a general medium delay for blues. Want a delay with tap. Be even better if that same pedal could change to a slapback with foot switch.

I faved. FYI about faving limitations: I recently moved from roku to apple tv because of all the cool new apps. Unfortunately, the "improved" apple version of the youtube app works better from a menu point of view, but it does not include the overlay of controls that allow faving and subscribing (or if it does, it is not an intuitive button choice). Maybe google doesn't like apple, and would rather you use chromecast or a roku. I don't know how many people are like me. But if they are, they may not want to go find their computer when they like a video just to express their feelings. I mention this because the upshot could be less favs from people like me that want to be on the latest and greatest thing. (It could be that wampler users are on apple tv at a higher rate than the general public, as well, but this is a guess.)

Hey Brian - That Faux sounds just great! I've use a Roland RE 301 for over 35 years now but had to hibernate it as the bearings are going bad, but the point is an echo and modulation this good needs to be or have a stereo option. My 301 is fabulous in mono but once amp #2 is turned on for stereo it is mind blowing on stage, so big and wide! Your Faux could do that with just a little extra tooling. I'm liking how sweet that Pinnacle brings it all together too! Now for the big question - I love the backing track you were jamming to - can you share where we folks can find this?

Nice vid Brian, The pinnacle sounds amazing through the fender, the tape delay seemed to get a little lost with the backing track and I struggled to hear the difference in the subdivision settings. I have to thank you for your pedal making videos on here, they have inspired me to start building. Finished my first pedal last night, not tested yet though as I am sure there will be some bugs and I would have been up all night troubleshooting. I would love to see something more about the anatomy of an OD circuit, e.g. why particular resistors/caps after input, tone control caps, why electrolytic caps and what defines the values. I was thinking about a project with dual od/distortion where the mix of soft and hard clipping out was on a mixer pot, and separate footswitches, I guess you have a few in your range already? With compressors, are they all LM13700 chips nowadays or are there alternative 8pin IC? Sorry lots of questions I have been bitten by this bug! Last question what would be more satisfying coming up with an amazing new tune or a new pedal?

I'm interested in buying a Wampler FTE pedal to add to my DJ setup and wanted to ask a few questions (pardon my ignorance as I've never played guitar nor used an effects pedal while DJing). Firstly, I am wondering how the delay time knob interacts with the tap tempo switch - does using one override the other? This appears to be the case and seems logical, but I haven't seen it explicitly stated anywhere. You mention that delay time controlled by the delay knob can still be scaled with the subdivision switch, while the tapped in tempo is clearly scaled with the subdivision switch, so if they don't override each other I'm missing something. I'm also curious about the correspondence between the knobs on the FTE and the V2; you mention in the video that movement=rate and sway=depth, and that turning depth down effectively bypasses the Faux Tape Reel allowing the pedal to function as a regular delay pedal. The repeats knob is identical, and so I gather that level=delay mix, echo=delay, and shade=tone? I am also a little worried about sending a signal that's too hot out of my mixer and frying the pedal - what is the risk of this? Finally, you tap in the tempo using your hand and mention that it's a soft switch - could it be comfortably used to tap in tempo by hand over a couple hours? Thanks

Hi Brain. I got this pedal yesterday. Sounds good and easy to dial in. However, I would ask if there is a simple way to turn off the lights of subdivision and tempo when it is on Bypass. It is very inconvenient for me to keep it on board. Every time I have to unplug the pedal or power. Otherwise, two lights are flashing forever. Thanks.

Brian, I have 2 v1 faux tape echoes. Both produce dirtier/noisier/soft distortion(emulates worn tape sound)repeats when the shade knob is past 10 o'clock, and the echo past noon(400ms). If you know what I'm talking about, can you elaborate on whether this is a product of the chip (PT2399)used, and is it the same or cleaner in the deluxe v.3? I prefer a darker dirtier(repeat with tape crinkle) sometimes as opposed to the bright repeat I get from my Strymon el Capistan. My Analogman delay is very Bucket Brigade (dark)sounding, my Strymons, and TC Electronics are more pristine(Bright) sounding, but I own 2 Faux Tape echoes w/ tap tempo to get the best of both worlds. Thanks Doug
