First full body recumbent trike with arm cranks and leg cranks. Revolutionary - the Varibike Trike has 7 different drive styles similar to rowing, paddling and cycling.

Trike with a lot function. But looks easy- I think it`s revolutionary.

Super idea. I want one. I hope it catches on to the general public.

i was about to drop a ton of money on a recumbent but this directly addresses my only concern with trikes....the lack of upper body work out....just checked the price. $10,000 Canadian.

There is the Cruzbike recumbent. Front-wheel drive and moving bottom bracket allows use of upper body.

@@polyrhythmia they make a TRIKE? i don't see one on their site...
@polyrhythmia5 жыл бұрын
@@o.b.v.i.u.sUnfortunately, they don't, but they were thinking about making a trike attachment. Haven't heard any more about it. I think Cruzbike should make a trike.

@@polyrhythmia I have both a Cruzbike Quest, and the Varibike trike. In my opinion, you only get an upper body workout on the Cruzbike if you do it wrong. I drect the thrust of my feet, and can start the Cruzbike and ride it hands off, steering only with the feet. That leaves nothing for an upper body workout. I don't see how it would actually add any power if to just stomp on the pedals and pull on the handlebars. On the Varibike trike, the arms add more power than I expected from how little muscle mine have compared to my legs. And I can get high intensity exercise, which I never manage with legs only, because my legs get tired before I get out of breath. It's been my only transport for 15 months.

@@robertbiegler4815 I have no trouble riding no hands on the Cruzbikes, but if I really want to pour on the power, then the upper body helps. Riding no hands does work the core, I have noticed.

"EASY BREAKING" (2:21) I hope that doesn't mean it falls apart easily! :) Interesting concept and looks fun.

Good, you found our hidden write error ;-) yes it should mean "EASY BRAKING"

Great idea and design but why so low? If on the road it could be a concern....visibility, mud, dogs etc.

Aerodynamism. Look up velomobiles, it's the augmented trike with a plane-like carbon fiber cockpit for even more of this specific caracteristic.
@ajarnStefАй бұрын
@@benlacavalerie2583 I know about velomobiles but I thought this particular model was intended for exercise rather than velocity.

So if you need to brake properly, you have to take your hands off and reach down to the rear brake levers beside the seat? Looks like a good bike to go slow on. You could at least get a big load between the rear wheels, so a good everyday commuter/ shopping buggy.

I think you just handpedal backwards to engage the main brakes.
