I have more than 15 years cutting vinyl with plotters and printing too, I am very new to cnc machining it has been a bit frustrating to learn but the way and pace you explain everything make it easy to understand, thank you sr for taking the time to share. ...im from Mexico we use the metric system there but i live in the usa i became familiar with the standard system too i feel comfortable with both.

I must comment, I came here to get a procedure for bringing grayscale heightmaps into Aspire, and then paused the video in fascination to check out your workshop. I wondered how old you were when Star Wars came out, you're obviously a fan. I marveled at the interesting objects on your bench and walls. I checked out your monitors, and I thought I recognized Mach CNC software to the right. ...And when I looked left.... My jaw dropped and I laughed my head off. :) MONA! I'm VERY familiar with this image, it was the first one I EVER 3D carved on my homebuilt CNC machine! lol It seems like a LONG time ago, but it's only been 5 years. I STILL use it often to test my 3D procedures and software. Someone put a LOT of effort into making it, and it is outstanding! Excellent video BTW, a lot of hands on practical info there. Thank you!

I'am a teacher in Oklahoma and just bought a Industrial 48x48 CNC router table this year and love it. I was fighting using Lazy cam (which is crap software) to make g-codes for Mach3. Searcing on the net for different software, I came across Vectric Aspire and had to have it even though it had a price tag of 1895.00, but worth every penny. But being with a school, for that price you get 40 copies which is very nice to have each student have their own computer to use. I want to thank you for the videos you make describing what to do. You explain things in a way that you can follow along and make it clear of what you have to do. When i need to know something, I watch your videos so thank you and keep making them.

hi Roger, nice tutorial. just to let you know that info for Tapered Ball Nose its a bit different when you add It to Tool Database. you can't enter a Ball nose bit info as a Tapered Ball nose Bit info, . Tapered bit has Side Angle info, and Tip radius info , and they have to be entered precisely in the order for Aspire to calculate tool Path the right way.

Great video. I am just getting into cnc machining and have a question about the carving of this model. I followed your tutorial and made the GCodes but when I tried to carve the model the A axis was rotating instead of the X axis operating. Could you please explain what I am doing wrong. I am running Mach3 with 4th axis.

@@rogerwebbchannel2cncsandmo997 Thanks Roger, plugs are in correct position as they have not been changed since I first set up the machine. I have used the x axis previously when trying to do standard carving and then tried rotary carving. I am not sure why the A axis is still taking over the X axis in this situation. I will be trying to do another small project and see if it is something wrong with what I am doing or a problem with the software.

Hello I want to learn from you. In the tutorial you speak over greyscale pictures. If I google the google and type Elephant Greyscale, he finds many pictures in black and white scale. Can I use them to make a 3d like you did in tutorial with the woman ? Ore can you give me a usable link to a picture so I can learn also how to search for nice pictures. Thanks for helping and the great way how you tell it in tutorials.

Hi Roger ! A Vectric Aspire 3D program is very expensive for someone who wants to start on a smaller scale what you do. Taking into account that you have to buy a mini CNC machine, a computer and various materials from which we want to obtain these beautiful objects, the amount invested is already large. To this sum we add almost $ 2000 the price of the program. So... I suggest you open a new business in parallel to help us beginners. Put on sale what you explain so nicely, and we will be able to get from the sale of the objects produced by us the necessary money to buy the Ventric Aspire 3D program. I hope you're interested in this suggestion. Have a day the way you want!

Importing a pre-generated image into Aspire is easy. All the work is in creating that grayscale heightmap image. Where's the video for that?
