Back in 1969, my Dad was stationed with the CB's on Guam (we stayed here in Texas). When he came back, he wanted to show us some of the things he'd learned while there. So he built a still and was gonna show my Aunts and Uncles he learned to make Brandy. My Uncle had fruit trees on his property, so my Dad took Peaches, Pears, apples, etc and put them in the still. When it was all said and done, he made several quarts of "Brandy". This stuff was Crystal Clear and even though I was only 13, I took a sip without him knowing and this stuff burned like a sonovagun, LOL!

I have been brewing beer for over ten years. And I have considered buying a still. It looks fun, and it is good to know.

We talked about this once before. I like that your starting to add this to your content. I started out with the Vevor 5gal. Now I added a 2 inch reflux column to it. I've been doing sugar washes. Now I feel I am ready to try a all grain mash. I love the dual content.

I run a 50L with 4 plates. Consumes a lot of water. Half the battle and 80% of the taste is in the fermentation. Setup 4 x 55 gallon drums and you will save money.

I run a keg with 2" column, one plate four foot of copper mesh. Water runs to waste from a flow well. Propane heat. 11 hours for a full run slow and low. 4 hour stripping runs. Run through a parrot cut heads and quit at 70 proof on stripping runs. Only make cuts on spirit run.

Wow, I'm surprised. I've been at it for 30 yrs.

That is a little bit more advanced of a setup than Granny's old hillbilly still. But I thought that having a copper pot was the best metal for the main pot.
