Nice one Mark had been thinking of this upgrade on van before it went. Interesting to see how easy it is in practice. 👍

Good stuff Mark, I’m contemplating adding a 2nd myself, I’ve added a 2nd battery and upgraded my controller already, no issues all summer just got to see how we go through the winter. You’ll get better results with that decent MPPT than the folding panel one you were going to use as it looked like a PWM don’t forget if you’re using splitters and throwing more volts into the original cables after the splitter you need to check they’re beefy enough 👍

Hi Rick, yes the cables are more than adequate but to be honest now it’s turning winter the charge is quite poor. I’ve just finished installing a Victron DC to DC charger so that will see us through winter !

Hi Mark, just found your channel, will be subscribing, I have just fitted a 15 amp victron controller but have the same problem of current flowing back to the engine battery via a car did your isolator switch solve this problem, I presumed mppt controllers sensed to stop this Back charge Would like to know your thoughts on this?
