I really enjoy the DCC Module reviews and would definitely enjoy a look through one of the Original adventures reincarnated (in a series, so that it provides lots of content and doesn't take up too much of your time.) Not sure if you backed the kick starter, but the Dark Tower one should be coming in the not so distant future and it has a DCC version and a 5E version. Also, DCC #100 Music of the spheres is Chaos. And it would be great to see some videos covering the DCC classes in the Gong farmer's almanac Zine (Dwarven priest, Elven Rogue, Barbarian, Bard, Gnome, etc..). Also, Mutant Crawl Classics and Empire of the East (the first module for EOE released not that long ago). I am interested in your opinions regarding one D&D, but I am not interested in playing it. I play DCC and 5E the most. I will probably pick up the Dragon Lance book, but once they switch over, I will no longer be purchasing WOTC releases.

Awesome to see you back! The Giant in the room is OneD&D so...that'll need addressing, if not covering. Is this going to mean a slew of 5E regressives will pour into the OSR? I like your stuff where you pontificate around the meaning and purpose of this hobby - what it does for people, what purpose (if any) it serves. Also, comparisons of old and new game systems - the contrasts between them are where the real substantive points hide. Look forward to more of your content!

Ad&d 1e initiative.Does it make any sense in multicharacter parties combat? Is it even possible to use it by the books? I don’t think even ADDICT document sticks to what DMG/PHB says about it.

Conventional attacks must follow initiative order among them (no segments involved/mentioned for this, RAW), but at the same time, if one of those attacks is against an active spellcaster (segment allocated), that conventional attack is then segment allocated comparing spell time and initiative roll figure and weapon factor. That is RAW, and it is a mess.

When spells are involved, order is set in a one to one relative basis, but what a about the order for the general party picture…

The second attack in a 3-attack routine…let say it goes againt a spell caster. Does it occur on 2nd segment or it depends on the spell being attacked iaw raw? What if there are other 3-attack routines by people not involved with that spellcaster?

I actually tried to make sense of ADDICT in a stream. Trying to implement it at the table was clunky, but the 1E group on my server says they’ve gotten it down in play and it’s working well for them. There’s going to be a major downside no matter what initiative system you go with, it seems. It’s all about what choices you want to matter and how much energy you’re willing to spend on resolving turn order. I lean toward it being simpler when I can. I’m not sure I’ll go back to 1E RAW initiative. I like BX initiative, and it I want choice to REALLY matter I go 2E initiative

All these are good questions without solid answers. When I tried to work it out, I mostly tried to focus on “who’s in conflict? let’s sort who hits first” but when you get multiple dudes on one baddie.. whew
