Man, for a game that literally cannot perform when there’s treasure on ships, it’s a brilliant move by Rare to do events where people put INSANE amounts of treasure on their ship causing the game to just completely shut down. Several minute black screens should have been gone back in 2019 and here we are STILL dealing with them. They gotta figure something out, man. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Edit: it’s also the reason I NEVER log on for in-game events anymore. Between the increased traffic of players and the loot on board, this game ends up (as we see in this video) being more frustrating than fun. If a game isn’t fun to play, NO ONE should be forcing themselves to play it. That’s where I draw a line with games and hobbies. It’s just not worth it (I get it with Hitbo, it’s his job so that’s a lil different).

Black screen has to be the worst gaming experience I ever witness in my 30 years of gaming. Hearing the creaking ship about to sink cannonballs' left and right sniper shot and your friend saying he's dead, then you hear the anchor drop all of that after you pass the door while staring into the void.

I'm convinced the bugs like that blackscreen will never be fixed. Rare is SO FOCUSED on throwing up new content instead of fixing the old that their new content constantly has bugs. Also- fixing the old bugs does not financially benefit them directly like new cosmetics and content does, so I bet thats a reason why it hasnt been prioritized. They dont immediately get a payday from fixing those old bugs, but they do with content for the season/plunderpass and other cosmetics in the shop (Majority of which, if you noticed is mostly reskinned items LOL).

I have the same issue as Green ever since EAC was added. And it's even more frustrating when you see still cheaters running rampant after EAC was implemented. So it's pointless except to make the game unplayable for a sizeable group of people. I don't think Rare tests the game on Steam at all.

Those black screens are the worst, and they often happen at the worst time. What can it possibly be doing that it takes so long to load? If its that hard for rare to optimize their game, just get rid of the ship of the damned transition, and just put a BIG BLACK image in front of the player when they are dead, and a countdown. The cool interactions with dead people and the lore of the ship of the damned are not worth these game-ruining black screens

We got probably the best season in sea of thieves history coming out in less than a week and people are STILL complaining about little glitches and stuff that rare even talked about fixing already. some people just cant be helped and they should just quit the game. better to not play at all then to come back 2 years later and just be disappointed again.

Green either has a corrupted hard drive, or is using McAfee/Norton/One of the other viruses disguising themselves as antiviruses. They're known widely to just start mass deleting files that EAC uses to verify games. I don't know the exacts sorry. It could be something as simple as Green needs to reinstall his entire graphics card driver from the ground up as well. I had an issue with my old PC of a similar nature. I had to wait ~5 minutes after closing any browser or art program before I could open SoT or else it would bluescreen me, could never identify the why, just the what. EAC is more like an Easy Anti Player so you have to fight around it.
