Low - 0 Friction is better for increasing your overall mouse control. That is not to say you can't get good control using any other pads. However having full control of your mouse without any added friction forces you to have good control with minimal room for error so you tend to develop better mouse control faster and helps rid of bad habits that can form when using other pads. Think of glass pads as training pads because i can guarantee if you use a glass pad for any reasonable amount of time your aim and overall mouse control will improve.
@mokiO_O10 ай бұрын
The reason that lower friction = better is because the lower the friction the more you are relying on your own abilities to stop the mouse. If you have have a cloth mouse pad it is going to be easier to stop a mouse and you won't have the pin point precision that is required from the skypad's. Overall I feel that the Skypad 3.0 has made my aim better in the long run because I better understand how to control my mouse rather than easily stopping where I want because of friction.
@AmiciCherno7 ай бұрын
It’s definitely a trade off of whether you want more friction to push against and allow to counterbalance your kinetic energy, or if you want less friction so that it’s easier to maneuver on the pad and you trade out the counterbalancing of the pad’s friction with your own applied friction by your hand and more intentional control over your muscles to stop your arm/hand at the target.

Hard agree, glad I'm not schizzoing 🗿 Might be two batches with different tolerances, gonna' do some testing with the people saying it's more controlled
@Killuminatix10 ай бұрын
It might be the different batches of Skypad 3.0 making us all have different results too, not necessarily the Skypad 4.0. My first early batch white 3.0 is insanely fast compared to the Yume Skypad 3.0 I got way later (I bought my first white 3.0 the day it released so very early) When my Skypad 4.0 arrived it had noticeably more dynamic friction than my early batch white 3.0. 🗿 (using obsidian red skates)
@boardzy10 ай бұрын
@@Killuminatix I thought about this as well. Because going off memory my OG white 3.0 felt close to the 4.0 but I gave it away. The textured/printed later versions which i showed are definitely slower
@Killuminatix10 ай бұрын
Yes 100% agree. I Still have both and I havent played on my printed Skypad 3.0 more than once because of how much slower it is than Og white 3.0. My take is that were all just schitzoing about different 4.0 surfaces when the real culprit is the different Skypad 3.0 batch surfaces we are comparing the new 4.0 to. Many that has early batch 3.0s seems to experience their 4.0s being slower or similar when compared. @boardzy
@calebmoney353710 ай бұрын
Do you prefer this or the pulsar superglide mousepad
@ShaiOwO10 ай бұрын
From a "faster is better" point of view, here's how I would explain it: first, the more tension in your aim, the less accurate you are according to Henneman's size principle (your smaller muscles used when using low tension aim are capable of much more precise micro adjustment than your stronger one). then, the less friction you have to overcome, the less force you have to input, resulting in faster acceleration. If we consider the acceleration on said pad as our bottleneck, the speed of a pad would define the skill ceiling.
@boardzy10 ай бұрын
So then why isn’t everyone using a plastic speed pads and glass skates? I don’t buy that anyways, simplifies aiming way too much
@ShaiOwO10 ай бұрын
Getting a glass pad + new skates can be a pretty big investment, and it is definitely possible to become insane on a cloth/slower pad. Also, even tho glass pads are not mainstream, I am noticing more and more people using one Btw, my fault if I seemed to simplify aim to only speed :D

I remember the OG icemat back in like 2004 and there are just fundamental flaws with glass (and indeed, all hard pads) that cannot be avoided when a grain of dust appears mid flick, to the point where the performance of the surface when it's pristine doesnt even matter because it's nearly anxiety inducing how jarring it is to have a grain of dust jamming into your skates. Been using UHMW polyethylene to make skates for a few years now since I got my Skypad 2.0 XL, best material I have found, good to see they finally started making them for the normies.

Who tf needs a mousepad? I just butter up my desk and click heads. Only downside after a week it starts to smell sour what I don't mind since I smell sour too. Just buy a GPX.

Have you actually tried the skypad arm sleeves? It’s clearly better if you got hairy arms. We already know you’re a giant nerd, just put one on. It’s not like you gotta walk down the street with that shit, plus the sora one is kawaii

Pick one: stream in front of thousands wearing an arm sleeve, 🛹 with a helmet on, or wear a fanny pack.

"U look like a loser" is a horrible reason not to use something imo. Most sports uniforms look dumb af on their own as well.
