I don’t have a single go-to for drums or bass, but I do like to keep the Waves CLA-2A on my kick bus for when I need to tighten things up. I don’t always engage it but sometimes it’s like an instant fix for a loose sounding kick.

I love the 2a on my bass right after any amp sim or distortion to help it gel together. 🤘

Wow, crazy how much of a difference this plugin makes when enabled compared to bypassed ! Especially in the whole mix and how much life it gives to each instrument, great explanation of it !

I was very surprised as well. Now I understand why so many people loved this thing haha!

4 years late writing...Raytwown Productions. I watched your and Warren Huart's reviews - both excellent. In my experience unless this thing is on fast it's useless. B. Like Warren, the defaults very hard or impossible to improve on. It's great on bass, I just used it on a Fender 6 and it did a credible job. I haven't tried it on vocals so no opinion. I find it pretty iffy other instruments. I guessed I would only use it on bass and so far that's been the case. I like it for 39 bucks on mono electric bass it's great. Like I wrote Warren, I find it very difficult to believe at this price point it's a lot like the hardware in professional hands but what do I know. Good video!

Love how much room/verb stuff it brought up and cranked when you switched it on! Gives a nice lively kind of aura to the drums 👌

Thanks so much! It really did make the drum pop and give the track another dimension!

This vari-mu compressor is suitable for (small) masters, the only one i know that remains supermusical in the low end. Fairchild emulations can give a prettier sound, but not if you include drums and (sub) bass

For real man. It's pretty amazing how it controls the bass so well in the mix but doesn't sound compressed🤘
