42 foot is that 2 foot trim? They generally want no less then 10" trim out west so you generally just cut at the next foot mark. An average of 36 foot is required on export logs. The good money on domestic logs is 32 foot and up. But no average length requirement. . Power polls generally start around 45 foot and can get crazy long. . The loaders the trucks use are quite a bit different from a forwarders boom, you have steel sticking out to balance a log on it, and swing it over the trailer bunks ect ect. The loaders are generally a 10,000lb loader actual weight on the truck. A 7,000lb loader can be trashed in under a year, moving the big fir trees. 21 to 24 tons legal load is typical capacity with 20 tires or 6 axils. More or less 88k gross.

Not sure on the logistics part of the logs once they leave the landing. They run 98k gross on 6 axles in Wisconsin.

Hey, Jason.How can you tell if the log is a cord or more than a cord ?
@LoggerJason16 күн бұрын
@@johnricks1630 most of the poles are around .5 to .75 of a cord depending on diameter.
