Here’s to All The Farmers in America, Thank you for another year of your Very Hard Work! Hope 2025 is the Best One Yet ✌️.

I worked at a powerplant 140 feet high without a elevator ,we took a inventory of all the bolt and nut sizes needed for typical jobs ,it saved many a step and lugging of extra wrenchs

I've always admired farmers sense i was around 8 years old knowing how hard you all work & under dangerous conditions. Thx to all the farmers , be safe and hopefully prosperous in 2025. 🙏

My father did everything the gard way. When a unit was not in use the pto shaft ends were removed and put on a shelf until the next time. The square tube the shaft slid onto was always greased on 4 sides before being slid on. More work but it always moved when you wanted it to.

I worked in a milling company for awhile. when we had a spill we had 2 or 3 small augers ( 3 or 4 inch, 10 foot long) that we would use to move the grain out to where it could be handled and disposed of . a little easier than walking with a shovel full of corn.
@patrickburgmeier79022 күн бұрын
Just a reminder Zach. Shutting the tractor engine off releases the pto brake, so you can turn the tractor pto shaft instead of the Implement shaft, to align the pto splines. It's some safer too. I know that you know that. 😊
@volvojohn90362 күн бұрын
I ALWAYS shut the tractor off when I connect a driveshaft. I never assume that what someone built is "safe".

So glad we have a grain vac for times like this. Makes spills and messes a lot easier and quicker to clean up. Should look into one Zach. Even if you only use it a couple times a year it’s quite handy.

About 20 years back, I bought a large set of combination wrenches from Harbor freight. For something I don't use very often, they sure have come in handy and I've never had a problem with them, even when doubling up wrenches for twice the torque, I haven't broken or damaged any.

On those snowblower chains . Use chainsaw bar oil. It sticks on the chain. Ice doesn't stick to grease chain.

@@Assassinlexx if an ATV differentials on ATVs leaks around a seal, can use stickum grease for same reason, sticks to the gears and do not leak out.

Smart decision on the not driving when you don't have to. Was seeing on another grain program where a lot of farmers are sitting on corn because of prices, so there's a lot stored up. Ethanol plants seem to be holding demand up some, so at least there's that.
@Galerak12 күн бұрын
I wasn't too sure so I called my 9yr old in for a second opinion and he can confirm that yes, the camera did indeed pick up the area where the corn was spilled. 🤣

I have noted that you guys are not shy about buying equipment to solve problems, wondering what the cons to owning a grain vacuum for dealing with spills like that are, that have caused you to not be using one?
@billnict12 күн бұрын
Costs $30K-$60K to a grain vac and you can count fingers on one hand to count how many times a year you really need one so it sits there taking up room in the shed. For the rare occasions when you really, REALLY need one, you can rent one from the COOP or another farmer that has one and that is all IMHO...

You might look into a gear box for the leg that has a reverse brake on it to keep it from back legging. An asphalt plant I worked at had those and they are a life saver😂
@Allen-w9d2 күн бұрын
Nothing better than the proper sized wrench. But if the crescent wrench does not work a pipe wrench will usually do the job. It will mar the nut or bolt head but not as bad as the crescent rounding them off. Then you will have no choice but to use a pipe wrench or a fire wrench and replace the bolt and nuts.
