I was really hoping that since these new weapons are more expensive to acquire in game, their performance would match, and we could gain a greater foothold on higher difficulties. Alas, my experience confirms everything you’ve said. It’s fun having new stuff to play with, but they’re essentially not better in the overall scheme of things.

My thoughts exactly. Oh they're pricy must be good right? I maxed the pistol and phalanx and haven't been on since to try the other guns yet. I hear the AR is solid though. Someone I played with the other night said it felt like a cross between the Kramer and pulse which sounds great for me since I actually opted to level up the Kramer before I even used the pulse. I really enjoyed it.

im still hoping for the classic flame throwers and some of the guns from the colonial marines game, that will probably come in a later pack. Don't get wrong I'd rather have this extra variety than not but no matter how much I try I just hate using the laser gun and it cost 2 normal guns to get? These higher price guns need fixing.

@@oldgrimrascal I haven’t put a terribly large amount of thought into what the worst gun in the game would be, but that laser gun would definitely be a contender.

@@sledgemofo1898 yup, I really want to like it, it hits hard but that delay in firing just screws you, it says something when the double barrel shotgun is more reliable with hitting things at speed than a laser gun.

I was hoping Phalanx would be different to the other class, but to me it's just a Technician trying to be a demolisher for crowd control. I still love it lmao!

spot on in my eyes, this is just technician but with a choice of shield or turret. Basically shield for synth levels and turret for everything else in life as it's just way more useful in most situations. Phalanx needs a taunt and to be able to block acid to really stand out.

Man the new weapons kinda suck, the only exception is the sniper rifle. I would understand if the could be like weapons you could acquire early in the game before you would get some of the better weapons. The phalanx class is another one that sounds like it’s got potential but it’s not there yet. Oh yeah made it to the end forgot to include that

I got a chance to try out these new weapons and they’re not bad but they do need some buffs to make them more effective and I hope they fix them also made it to the end.

I'm late to the party again. I picked this game up in late February and I'm loving it. Acid Glow for the win with great tips and advice once again. I got all three of these weapons in the last week (end of April/beginning of May) and I don't know if they have been changed since this video went up. I have noticed the differences between the weapons with Pros and Cons but I'm having no problems. I guess I'm really enjoying learning how to use them all effectively and situationally. It's so much fun. I like discharging the Napalm Rockets while spinning up the mini gun for maximum carnage. I like using the Type 88 in tandem with the Storm Surge with the Gunner. The Type 88 for hosing down in target rich environments and switching to the Storm Surge when I need a bit more accuracy and speed. Overclock giving them that extra spicy salsa. I take max ammo over max reload speed all the time, quick reloading does help but I can reload when it's quiet or I need to take cover. I've always liked using cover in games for precisely that. I've never been much of a Sniper so the Pike is a bit of a handful for me. I have the same attachments as shown in the video so I guess that's the optimal configuration. The stopping power makes up for my lack of skill with a long rifle, as long as I get that head shot the first time 😄

Idk why he said the Minigun can't use the Polygonal Rifling barrel when it and any other weapon with the barrel slot can use it. I put it on all my weapons that it could go on just to be sure.

I'm leveling the Minigun anyway just for some flavor and in hopes it might get a buff later but having already leveled the Smartgun and Rocket Launcher, I have to agree, the Minigun just doesn't compete.

The minigun by far was the biggest disappointment to me Needs either a crap ton more ammo or a special perk that let's you overcharge your ammo cap when you pickup ammo which decreases over time. The damage on it I think it fine its just the massive ammo issue compared to say the smartgun

Agreed. Especially when it takes a few shots to gain full accuracy - it doesn't have a big enough ammo pool to be worth it

I think the damage is shit too. Its a heavy weapon spraying all over the place while the kramer has more dagame, more accuracy, more range and more ammo. Why? Whats the point to the L59? I dont get it.

With the smart gun there IS a way to get crits when you want. In the settings there's an option to keep a small crosshair dot at all times and when using the smart gun if you move that dot to their head it will crit like any normal gun. The smart gun is more so aim assist and not aimbot. You still gotta work a little

I can finally say that I was able to beat the game on intense mode (although I didn’t get the achievement or rewards for doing it) after hours and hours of searching for matches! I look forward to eventually working my way to extreme! I do wanna level up all my kits and these weapons beforehand though! Update: I got the achievement and rewards now. Call me crazy, but I believe if you play a mission with the bots only and not actual players (or the human tanks card), completion will not count towards the total! For a couple of missions where I couldn’t find players, I played with alpha and beta with double health active.

I did get the trophy when I beat it on intense, but it's been a while, there was a reward? I think all the rewards can be obtained by simply just beating missions on intense or higher. Except for the gold skin and hat for insane. I'm sure you'll inform me if there was an exclusive intense reward or not but I legit don't remember. I would of liked to move on to extreme over a week ago but that matchmaking will refuse to find me anybody.

Maybe you missed a level. Some people tend to hop around levels with random matchmaking or helping friends and they forget which one they had left behind unfinished.

@@NYC_Goody If I’m correct, I believe it’s a random selection of the colored metallic skins. I got two of them after recompleting E1M3, which was the final mission that didn’t count for me

Contract Delivers: Weapon with lower rate of fire than the Smartgun, /half/ the magazine capacity, and less than a third the accuracy, along with a spin up the Smartgun doesn't suffer from, and an ABSOLUTE lack of a round that hits anywhere near hard enough to warrant choosing it over a self-guided platform. God what a let down. And I LOVE mini guns.

The kramer is better than the L59 in every metric aside from the mag capacity. Why? Whats the point of this weapon? The heavy assault rifle gets range extension on its first two levels. Why? It has great range on which you cant use it because of the bad accuracy. I dont get some of the decisions the devs make.

Any automatic rifle is good on them anyways. You wouldn't need the minigun if you got the smartgun or grenade launcher. Scout and Snipers are good to headshot them and keep them unaware.

I think the Minigun needs to have the "slow heavy hitter" part of the lore pronounced, by simply buffing base damage. Also, the muzzle flash needs changing.

Totally onboard with the disappointment in the Minigun. Sure it needs a big buff to make it competitive to the Smart Gun but the real killer for me personally is the way it fires. It sounds like one of those hand cranked gatling guns from the 1800's and yah it shoots WAY too slowly. Personal opinion, it should have low per damage rounds, a heretofore UNHEARD of ammo magazine and Max Ammo then both fire AND sound like Jessie Ventura's weapon from Predator =)

How to fix L59 Minigun -Increase rate of fire(more faster or same rate of fire as Smart Gun) -Increase more damage -Magazine capacity change to 200 or 300 -Increase more ammo -Big muzzle flash -Increase accuracy PS: If I was Armat Battlefield System(pulse rifle manufacturer), I would build my own minigun/chaingun to compete with Weyland Yutani. Something that minigun/chaingun suppose to be. Fast, pack more punch, high rate of fire and a lot of ammo.

Uhh cqc weapons like why would you ever use a pistol or sniper in close range? just whip out the shotgun or riot gun if aliens get close.
