Be happy you have a Wegman's Grocery Store. I live in the Midwest, and we don't have NOTHING like Wegman's. I visited Wegman's up in Upstate New York, one of the BIGGEST Wegman's, the normal size of Wegman's 45,000 sq ft. The Biggest Wegman's around 123, 000 sq ft and it holds over 70,000 grocery products. If there were a Wegman's here in the Midwest, I'll be one of the first customer. We don't have NO STORE this huge.

In this area we have 20 Wegmans within an hour of each other. There are 2 other big Wegmans 8 minutes away from this new one. So the size of it and lack of parking is important for residents. Many will still drive to the other one. So that was why I was talking about the size, to let the local peeps know.

Actually the smallest Wegmans in existance is 57,000 sq. ft. and that is the Fairport store which is the oldest in the chain. The rest of the stores are between 75,000-155,000 sq. ft. The largest currently is in Dewitt, NY (Syracuse area) at 155,000 sq. ft.

I went after work tonight and it was mobbed. long lines getting into the parking garage. it will probably be crazy this weekend. I wonder what will happen to the other grocery stories in the area. There are a huge number of grocery stores nearby. I think some may go under. I did not notice the upstairs area.

Yeah during the day there was a line out the 1 garage door, I slid right past everyone and went in the other, but I went during work hours so probably much less crowded when I was there. Not sure how it will impact the area, this is one of the smallest Wegmans and the parking is going to be very bad for a while at least. You probably experienced the low ceilings and smaller store issues, which is that you feel like a sardine and I was overwhelmed by too many people. So not for me, but I know people in this area and live by 2 Wegmans myself, so it is going to be PACKED all the time.

Don't like the parking situation will probably go the little extra to go to Ashburn Wegmans

I agree, I'm never going there again. I mean I live by the Fairfax one anyway, but I already avoid Sterling and Reston due to parking sucking. (Fairfax parking sucks too, I found a little secret way in).

Parking garage is so tight.. lot of traffic trying to park or getting out of the garage. I still like wholefood saladbar better though.

I've seen too many crazy things happening at Whole Foods salad bars from children to ADULTS putting their hands in the food. So I'm mostly out on that lol. But in terms of grocery shopping I NEVER go to Wegmans. Always too busy/annoying. I do go to Wegmans for like "dinner" so I'll stop by for pizza or wings, something where I don't have to push a cart or wait in a line. But general shopping is better elsewhere.

I mean, I do make a face when I bite down on a wing, but that is because I'm not biting the bone. My teeth were not harmed at all. And I got more wings today too, all good!
