Looks good. I prefer the tires to sit a little inside the fenders. Just in case you hit a serious bump, it doesn't crush your fenders. But difference is the beauty of car set up.

You should put some GT500 style mud flaps on this car because the paint along the bottom of your doors and rocker mouldings will get chipped with wide tires. And in rainy conditions the spray back has a sandblast effect! Pretty sure that’s why Ford put the mud flaps on the GT500 from the factory. I dunno if the GT500 ones are a direct fit but I think you can get a similar style set that will fit from AmericanMuscle. Get a flashlight and start looking at the paint on the bottom of your doors and the rocker mouldings. I bet you will see tiny chips in it already. It’s one of those things that you might not notice right away unless you look for it. I put some clear 3M bra behind my back tires and mud flaps on the front. Another option could be to spray the rockers and the door bottoms with clear Plasti dip to protect the paint. Not sure how it will look but you can peel it off if it don’t look good.

@@kaidanodom I think these would be the ones to get as they are not too big, similar to GT500 ones. I bought a set of mud flaps from AM for my 06 GT but I did not like the fact that the rear ones were a bit too big for my taste. I used the front ones and you can barely notice them on the car. But these ones here seem to be better. I might have to get a set of these. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJy6n4B6pqqBbbc

What are the specs are your lowering springs? I want to fit 18x 10 deep dish bilit rims from am, but I want to lower my car. Any thoughts?
@kaidanodom2 жыл бұрын
Really gonna depend on the tire you want and the offset of the wheel. Usually if American muscle advertises a wheel it fits okay on most set ups. I would recommend checking fitment industries to see if anyone has a similar set up to what you’re looking for and then you can use willtheyfit.com to fine tune the fitment. My springs are a 1.5 inch drop from factory ride height. Hope this helped, good luck 👍

What do you think about 10" wide whells in the front and 12" wide wheels in the rear?
@kaidanodom3 жыл бұрын
The 10 inch in the front will probably fit okay but the 12 in the back might be a little too wide but it all depends on the offset

Great wheels! What do you thing about 20” rims on the 1st gen S197?
@kaidanodom2 жыл бұрын
Personally I think 20s are a little too big but I know some people love to put 20s on them so it just depends on what you think looks best. I think 18s and 19s are optimal

Dude I wish I would’ve done it right like that when I got my first stimulus check. I spent all that money on the GT350 replica wheels 19x10 rear and 19x8.5 front with Lexani LX-Twenty 275/40/19 rear and 255/40/19 front. I hate this setup, it honestly looks super ugly to me. The Lexani’s grip on dry roads but sucks in the rain, as well as wears super easy, on top of having a non aggressive tread pattern. And the GT350 replica wheels just don’t work on a black car. It’s too much black and the wheel honestly is an ugly wheel. Oh well, you live and you learn. Your setup looks sick though. Idk if I want to go 295/45/18 and 255/40/18 for tires considering I’m trying to road course my car, not going for straight line acceleration. I need something that will grip hard in the corners. Regardless, sick setup. Fitment is almost perfect.

I have some 014 performance wheels on my 010 which are R19. I currently run some 255/45/19 Would you think295 /45/19 would fit nice on some stock suspension?
@kaidanodom3 жыл бұрын
As long as your rear wheel is 10 inches wide the 295 will fit well. As far as your ride height, it’ll feel in the wheel well a bit better on stock ride height but being slightly lower will help fitment even more

@@kaidanodom yeah makes sense, would you say 1.5 in is too much when running a bigger tire like a 295?
