Think I've probably tried every burger chain there is out there and personally find BK's always comes out on top for taste and value for money , Five guys are awesome but the cost rules them out when it comes to VFM. Always extremely busy as we only have one in our town and people are waking up as to how good they are 👍

You're right about their fries, just a pity the portion is so small and dearer than most if not all fast food joints. I know quality over quantity is an argument. But my Father used to say there is a difference between scratching your arse and tearing it!

I used to love Whoppers growing up and it had been years since I'd had one. Then I had one and it was really disappointing. I tried another about 6 months later and it was still disappointing. It was just lack-lustre. Also, I tried the McDonald's app at a service station on the M5 and I was sure it thought I was at a different McDonalds so I gave up in the end. Problem is, I've been to Five Guys and everything just pales into comparison.

Undoubtedly Five guys is a step up, but it comes at a premium. Bear in mind what I got a BK cost me less than a fiver, can't get much in Five Guys for that !

It's amazing to me how different Franchise chains are in different countries. I love KFC in the UK, especially because of the Gravy. I won't touch it where I now live (Malaysia) it's simply awful. I had one in Korea recently that was so good it blew my socks off. Burger King is a similar story. Love it in the UK, in Malaysia it's all over the place, very branch dependent, in Brunei it reached it's lowest ebb truly the worst I ever had. And again in Korea, probably the best Burger King ever. Mucky D's much like Starbucks seems to have much better control over their Franchisees around the world and it's usually the same no matter what country you are in. I did find you Burger King are the best fries to be contentious. English Fish and Chip shop chips are the best. From the fast food chains going against Mucky D's is a bold claim. But, as I no longer live in the UK I cannot confirm my bias.

McD fries when freshly cooked are good - but if they've spent more than a couple of minutes out of the fryer they go soggy fast. BK ones maintain their integrity. KFC gravy is amazing (although don't watch videos about how it is made ha ha!)

Finally I’ve found a fellow advocate for Burger King Fries, just a shame there’s about a thousand more McDonald’s than Burger Kings in the country. If I get a McDonald’s I don’t even bother getting the fries any more. KFC fries were fine then as far as I can tell one girl tweeted she didn't like them and they changed to the skin on monstrosities we have today.

Couldn’t agree with this comment more! Normally if I have McD fries I order them without salt. That means they have to cook some fresh as normally they salt them the second they come out of the fryer.

We are off to Norfolk tomorrow, always stop at Burger King in Newmarket. I get the 2 large whopper meals for me and the lad for £10 on the app, the missus gets her large whopper meal for £6 on her app, and I see I have enough points for a free whopper meal, so a good load of grub there and £16 for 3 of us really can’t be beat. Also, I’d rather have a free whopper with a £3 spend than a whopper for £1.99, am I alone in this? Seems great to get a £5 meal and a free whopper with it

That was fantastic advice on how to use the apps i.e. use as much as you can when you can! I am not a fan of Burger King and probably never will be. However, the comments about raw white onion are so true. If anywhere is serving raw onion, it needs to be red onion with the added sweetness to balance the overall flavour. I know the extra burger was free, but honestly, personally I would not waste the time or mileage on going to get it.

Living in North America, fast food is everywhere. But, for me, Burger King is the best. There is plenty of opposition but they seem to hold the edge. Of course, the menu is different to yours, but just as good. I prefer the spicy chicken over the whopper, which my wife loves. Travelling throughout both Canada and the US you know what to expect at both BK and MickyD and there are no suprises.

The consistency is certainly there, here most of the branches are operating on a franchise basis, but obviously using the same supply network and same processes. It’s always just felt a notch up on McD to me.
