Great show as always! I love to enjoy what I affectionately refer to as the Turkey Trot. I'll start with Russell's Reserve 10yr, then Kentucky Spirit, then Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, and finally Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Kentucky Spirit used to be released at 104 proof around the turn of the century, and Rare Breed was offered at 108 proof. Rare Breed has improved greatly at the 116.8 proof. I wish that the Kentucky Spirit would return to the original 104 proof. Again, great show as always and Cheers!

I just did a similar comparison this evening - a 101, 101 70th, and a Kentucky Spirit CN-F. Surprise, none of these suck! I'm a fan of the 70th and to me it had the best mouthfeel with a nice viscosity. I actually put them in the same order as you, with the KS coming out on top due to the richer flavors. I feel like the Kentucky Spirit bottles have been flying a little under the rada the past few tears - there are some really good ones out there...

KY Spirits have had a checkered past with a lot of folks. Store picks (now called Private Select 101) were always good but they had put some clunkers in the shelf in the past. But I do have a downright spectacular CN-C shelfer that's incredible.

On the military base here in Fort worth Texas i can find 101 for 17.99 with no tax. Also can get the 10 year around 45 to 50 dollar price range. Can't beat that all. Anyways, always love these blind videos. Love yall! Cheers!

As soon as I got a 70th anny Russells 8 year it went up against a couple KY Spirits and a couple of older 101 bottles (2020 & 2022). The Russell's 70th brought up the rear. For whatever reason its more delicate flavors just dont seem to do well in blinds (did it again after some air time..same result). And yet..I friggin love this bottle and cant stay off it. Already onto my second one!! Thanks for the video. Cheers guys.

I actually just got my first Wild Turkey bottle recently, a Camp Nelson F Kentucky Spirit. I absolutely love it, but I wish it was a bit more viscous/had a better mouth feel. Just goes to show how wildly different single barrels can be, especially when you add in different warehouses. I don't get any of the same notes off my bottle.

I loved the 70'th anniversary. But I also love Russel's 10 year and Kentucky spirit. The difference in quality of those three is marginal. Wild Turkey 101 is absolutely the worst of those 4. Its a staple in my house and I use if for most of my whiskey cocktails.

I'm not at all surprised that RR 10 came in first. Gainesville Florida area WT 101 is $22-$24 depending on store. RR 10 is $39-$44. KY Spirit is $65-$70. Haven't seen a 70th on the shelf anywhere around here. Cheers.🥃😎

Was thoroughly unimpressed with Kentucky Spirit. At the price point here in New England Rare Breed is the same price or slightly less. For the price of Kentucky Spirit I’d rather either save $$ and drink RR10 or step up in price a tad for the RR Single Barrel.

Thank you for adding "collecting sticks to build a fire". I always taste that in good bourbon. NOT! This might be the comment that put me over the edge with bourbon reviews. No matter how hard I try, I have NO idea how people can say they taste "cola and vanilla cream with icing sugar. Swiss roll and sugar cubes. Cream from a squirt can. Fresh pancakes, maple syrup and roasted pecans. Rice pudding dessert with a warm caramel sauce. Flaked choux pastry. Glazed cherries, coffee beans...?" (a review for OF 1920). When I drink OF 1920, I don't taste a hint of "Cream from a squirt can". Maybe I'm tasting "Cream from a glass bottle?" NOPE. I'm tasting good bourbon, and no good bourbon I know of tastes anything like pancakes, or flaked choux pastry, or collecting sticks to build a fire. Nonsense. All of it just fluff to create content. Clearing my cache so the bourbon videos stop loading - I'm done (I know you won't miss me).
