Congratulations Everyone thinks I’m crazy too for noticing details nobody else does!! Tyler’s gonna be in DIY heaven!! Idk where he finds the energy to be constantly researching how to do things, he’s a perfectionist at everything he does, he has so much love and support from everyone in his family, friends, staff, etc!! Plus he fits in time with all of his girls!! Idk of many men who are like him!! You two are absolutely a “power couple” There’s so many other channels or podcasts he can do. YES!! I’m with Jessica, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the light fitting downstairs was “ Ooh that looks like a jellyfish 🪼 how odd” 🤣 Great minds Jess, great minds! I’m sure Brady will watch this video and he’ll be SO proud and pleased at Tyler’s attention to detail when it comes to finishing a job PROPERLY with no snagging list. This is amazing🙌🏼 When it comes to protocol in regards to selling a home and the cleanliness of it, something interesting we dealt with when selling our previous home is the new buyers actually put it in the contract that they wanted us to have our home professionally deep cleaned before they moved in. If we ever buy again, we will most likely put that in the contract as well - I think it makes a huge difference when you move into a home. It slightly sucked for us simply because it was a pretty penny to have the home deep cleaned, but it was great for the new buyers👌🏼Anyway, really excited for you guys and for your new trip coming up. I remember tearing up when you both announced Tyler starting his travel agency and to see how far you have both come since then is absolutely incredible. Love seeing you both pursue your dreams and I’m looking forward to future videos!

Moving with the military so yes always had to make sure house was extremely clean before we moved. Last move was not with military yet I hired someone to do a deep clean although I’m really clean and organized. Also my painter in Florida said to always paint your closets a bright white and not color of your room. This helps see the true color of any outfit or item you’re looking at. Plus if you change room color you don’t have to repaint the closet. Trust me I didn’t know that the first time around and loved it after I listened to him. Congrats on your new place.

I love how you are so willing to do the work and save money but also know when to hire like you did with your basement. It looks like it’s going to be a nice home to someday rent out or sell. You could also do an Airbnb with it someday. So excited for you and us….we get to see Tyler fix it up!when we bought our house, we are the second owners, the previous owners were already living in their new home across the field. Every Thursday the lady cleaned the house so we bought a very clean house! They repaired $11k of damage the renters of 2 years had done. Replaced the septic and had the well inspected

In Australia you definitely clean before you leave. If you’re leaving a rental you won’t get your bond back unless it’s spotless. We had to show a receipt for professional carpet cleaning and pest spraying. When we sold our house I left it in pristine condition, the house we then bought was also left in pristine condition. Love your townhouse, thank you for sharing!

It's beautiful! My dad was in the Navy. We moved every 3 years. We had to clean the house we were leaving. And clean the next house as we moved in. So, every spring I declutter and clean every room and closet.

It's a really nice place. Whenever I've moved. I always clean my old place (and leave a fresh roll of toilet paper) as well as deep cleaning the new place.

Tyler - just buy light kits for the fans (if you like the fans) - a lot cheaper. Also, I had a huge mirror like the one in the master bathroom and instead of replacing it; I trimmed it out. I bought trim and painted it to look like patina - it was awesome. Try that - it was fun and looked amazing!

The can lights can be replaced EXTREMELY easily with wafer lights that have different temp controls. Highly recommend those - got the Eaton brand ones from Home Depot to do the ones at my parents last year.

When we bought our house it was all hard wood floors, gorgeous. Then after living with them for like two weeks, carpet. The noise. There was no quietly trying to go potty in the middle off the night. Everyone knew.

The old marks on the carpet in Tyler’s office look like the dust from old treadmills. They used to kick back black dust when they were used for long periods. Glad y’all got all that cleaned up! I’d hire a painter to fully paint and a cleaning crew to do the deep clean. Then y’all can start tackling those projects. Congrats!

My advice is spend the money on a painter they are in and out and especially doing trim and doors and high spaces. We used to do our own but now having a painter in it is like moving into a new home.

Apartments you clean first, but generally homes people don't because moving is such a pain and there's no time and no deposit to worry about getting back. lol It has to be all staged til sold then mad dash to pack it all and get out before escrow closes. lol I always did what I could, and it was cleaned while being shown, but packing makes a mess and at that point, all you care about is hurrying to get into the new place. Last house I bought the place had so much debris, it was horrible and took forever just to get down to the actual house. lol This place is lovely. It's so fun to see Tyler so excited about it. Good investment and you can write it off on the taxes too!

I did a ten day FAM trip to Egypt years ago. It was amazing. A&K was the operator. Added a day trip to Alexandria. Mediterranean Sea was beautiful. Also added Abu Simbel. Very glad I did that. It was so hot. I joked I was going to put my feet in the river and they guys all freaked out yelling about the crocodiles. Never saw one, even on cruise.

Love, love, love!!!! This is going to be a fabulous workspace and investment. What do the girls think?? 💗 Our island is not attached to the floor either and has an electrical outlet in it. The prime reason is because it had to be able to move if we needed to get a new stove or fridge. They could not be moved in or out because of where the island was. If you take up the molding, we can swivel the island enough to make magic happen! 🤣 Jess, I have my outlets labeled from my teacher’s label maker as well! I’m so excited for you both! The future’s so bright, you’ve got to wear shades!! 😎

You guys should sand the paint off those banisters and stain them. Take them back to original just wood. I hate when people paint over nice wood things. Makes it look so much cheaper. I love some nice stained wood pieces ❤ beautiful and timeless

I was at an Airbnb over the summer that mounted a ladder on the wall and used that funky open space in the bedroom as a loft with an air mattress (and of course railings to keep the kids from falling out). Would be happy to share a pic of the listing with you for inspiration if you’d like.

Great investment!!! Congratulations ❤Some projects are so fun to do. I love that Tyler is excited. I’ve got two rentals at this time and working on a duplex now, when I first started I wanted to change everything about the home and my husband kept reminding me “it’s a rental”, think about how much you are renting it for, look at comps and don’t spend too much money. The kitchen is beautiful, I would suggest you buy new appliances, Home Depot has a sale 2-3 times a year where you can get them all for a good price, this will keep from getting calls from tenants saying something broke down. Definitely replace all the carpets with LVP, you don’t want to worry about cleaning carpets every time someone moves out. Bathrooms are also great, definitely replace the faucets. Good luck!!!!

We had always done all of our own painting until we moved into our current house (8 yrs ago) We were running out of time because our first house sold so quickly so it was kind of a desperation move. Best. Thing. Ever. We frequently say it was some of the best money we spent.

Congratulations!! What a great investment. Please, please, please get into your attic and check for mold from all the various water spots. Inspectors can tell you it’s ‘old’ and dry, but mold can still be there, and spreading. Can’t wait for the videos!!
