What's your quick and dirty prio list for hatchet? I dont know why pen backstab is as sought-after as it is. Are you really getting that many flanks on someone or is it purely for fleeing opponents? That aside, what's your prio for hatchet perks for serenity/hatchet build? I am looking at keen berserk, keenly jagged, pen backstab, refreshing torrent, plagued crits. My priority is small scale 1v1 and 3v3 style skirmish pvp (cutlass, opr, arena).

always pen backstab for me, partly to do with the perk labeling system. extra damage perks are dmgcon, perks that haven't a conditional effect are proc. pen backstab is neither, so it's already very good just for that reason but even if it took the dmgcon spot I'd still run it because of how powerful armor penetration is in this game, beat people up they get low health try to run then every swing in the back is like double the damage of a non-crit to the face. keen berserk is very good since the buff, I used to run it on weapon but I started running it on armor bc I want torrent on weapon. I never run keenly jagged. so basically my ideal hatchet setup is KB on armor, weapon pen B, torrent, plagued crits. and since plagued crits is a debuff you can run a normal moonstone instead of the dot runeglass, gives you 3% dmg back

one nice thing about new world is it only takes a couple minutes to get a weapon max level, but if you're looking for an idea on where to start, I'm obviously biased hatchet/spear & hatchet/greatsword. common tanky build is sns/spear. common range is rapier/musket or fs

been pvp'ing since launch. I'm rank1 on arena 3 times over. how tf are you dealing with FS users in this? with it being open world with infinite room to run. I can usually kill them if I run SNS with something but with double offense melee it seems impossible. any ideas?

I kill them first.. lul nah greatsword is an insanely defensive weapon if you play it correctly. you have to know when to be in which stance. onslaught turns you into glass cannon, defiant turns you into a tank

thank you my man 🤝 if you're on kbm it's almost never worth using aimlock, especially fighting in a clump. if you're struggling to aim or you're on controller yeah it'll definitely help with some abilities. my advice would be bind it to a button that you can hit very easily and be ready to toggle it on n off constantly. like put it on to hit your skill shot abilities and then pop it back off so you don't get locked in a bad position

it's still kinda strong for melee and BB but honestly most people on my server haven't been using it from what I can tell on valhalla. still definitely been able to skill diff people but they did tone it down pretty considerably

Hey man, as a PvP player strictly, how do you make money to craft gear? I’d guess because you’re on a legacy character probably full crafting skills, so you spend time crafting/selling? I never seemed to understand if that was worth it, doesn’t seem like it is in this game lol

so when my current character was a fresh start char I went for jewelcrafting, it's always a MUCH bigger profit margin than crafting armor. you can craft 2 perkers for pretty cheap and just roll the 3rd perk. don't be afraid to list things at stupid prices especially on fresh because war companies have tons of gold and want to get their best players the best gear available. but at this point all my inventories are maxed I can just sell things if I need gold but in the beginning you do wanna make sure you do your dailies and actually farm at least some of the mats for your crafts. nowadays I just flip the market occasionally, like when shirking heals got nerfed from 5s to 10s the price tanked and I bought every craft mod I could afford because I assumed people were overreacting. then it get buffed back to 7s and I made a fortune lul and when this season launched I could tell it was gonna be a slash heavy meta and all the slash conditioning and slash dmg ring mods were selling for way too cheap so I bought every single one

I'll explain more in depth in the build guide I'm workin on but those are the only 2 I need, crosscut or steadfast just slow me down and hurt my moonstone uptime. moonstone is 20% base damage increase when all abilities are on cooldown and base damage is very important for my build since blooddrinker takes away 25%. I get more value taking extra passives on the GS tree than I would taking another ability anyway

Try to break your habit of opening with relentless rush. Open your GS combo's using skyward slam first and then RR. There's so many more positives of comboing your gs abilities this way

...if you relentless first to get in onslaught, then skyward gets an extra stack of rend. if you do them backwards like you're suggesting then literally nothing changes except losing that rend stack.

@@PJsurely losing the 1 second root which ensures landing 1 or 2 guaranteed onslaught heavies. When opening with RR you're also procing your guaranteed crit after entering onslaught and it's wasted on the upward strike of skyward. If you do it reversed, you get the guaranteed crit from the slam and then after RR the rooted target guarantees another crit for your follow up heavy attack. And when you open with relentless rush, you just used your gap closing Greatsword ability to engage the target. You use the broken tracking of skyward to engage, the target will dodge and you have RR to then close that distance, land the root and proceed with heavies. I've been playing Greatsword since it came out and played it in thousands of wars with companies like dropouts, supple and atrocity. The biggest companies in the game bro. Trust me, try the opposite combo. Ive done thousands of vod reviews for killsquad players. The additional 5% rend by opening with RR is far more inferior than doing the combo in the opposite pattern.

I got my 725 hatchet from the island, just gonna keep rolling rng boxes until I get the perks I want. both my offhand weapons are artifacts so I can just upgrade them. and once I get my armor and jewelry artifacts upgraded I'll have enough attribute points to hit 25int in addition to 200str 200dex 200con. after that just calling it good enough because I can't upgrade my 2 dawn pieces and the island boxes don't roll some perks I want so.. basically just staying around 700gs forever haha not that big a deal. can rng roll jewelry boxes maybe get higher gs with my perks but I wouldn't sacrifice my perks for gs

350 dex bow builds and muskets also have cc break on a semi-short cd simply by weapon swapping. Hatchet berzerk is fine as is.

What’s really amazing is how a company an streamers have ruined this game by themselves , great video and very nice graphics 🤦‍♂️. yeah valhalla is still pretty active us east, kinda crazy how fast the west servers die off. but yeah thats one really nice thing they did so server pop doesn't matter as much anymore, basically everything that's instanced is cross-server opr, arena, dungeons

I never use sin and I almost always play hatchet haha the only people that really use sin are people that wanna make weird cheese builds and don't realize their hatchet does no damage. I love scorpion sting tho

depends on your playstyle, I ran almost exclusively keen berserk, vicious, and pen backstab for a long time but I'm trying to roll a new hatchet rn, I know i want torrent on the hatchet, the pen crits is pretty nice against heavy players but vicious is way more consistent against light/medium. always pen backstab tho
