Bow spear always the way for me, plus choosing the archetype for this gives 50 logging so straight to mature trees and also 50 engineering for better tools and dex weapons earlier. Bow is always great for getting tags on objective mobs when contested in early game and rain of arrows, pen shot and explosive shot decent for clumps.

I think its good to remember you can pair weapons together... I personally like to pair hatchet with sword and board for leveling. The hatchet gives ranged and raw damage, and the sword gives some mobility and tankiness. (I tend to tank a lot in pve too so it's good to get sword and board levled). I am curious to see how the changes to the swords tree with different shields/weight loadouts will impact the experience. I also like to pair bow and spear. Greatsword is nice because you can pair it with either a dex weapon like a bow or a strength weapon like a hammer. I think hammer is ranked a little low in this video because it has some nice lifestealing abilities. If you wanna do more of a caster thing... firestaff paired with either ice or void works good, but I think the damage would suffer with both ice and void.

Played quite a bit before so not bothered about speed, since the leveling is very quick anyway. Gonna C-tier my way to at least 30 with penetrating musket shots cause it is the most fun weapon in the game. Especially with the snappier feeling of combat in the update.

Ice Spike for IG is great, but you have to have the right perks and there's a learning curve to judge distance. Ice pylon would be better for solo play since it will basically tank mobs for you. My OG leveling build was GS/ Hatchet and it's still alot of fun to play and I'll probably run it for launch. FS/ IG is still good as long as you know what the abilities do, I ran this build during beta and it still performed well for me. Find what moves you and go with it

I don't like tier lists i think they're pointless ANY weapon will lvl you to max, except foot, if you're in a hurry to get to max lvl then go ahead and pick the S tier weapons and builds, i like the underdogs and i'm gonna give the blunderbuss/flail or hatchet combo coz why not.

It’s a big patch, if you buy it now on Steam you need to make sure you buy the Angry Earth DLC - that will ensure you get the New World Aeternum update on October 15. It might be worth waiting until October 15 tho so you can start on a fresh start server!

@savvo lol I agree. I have played since launch, I really miss the wild Wild West of the early days in this game. Just tell everybody about how broken hatchet was at launch. Or the crazy combo of Great Axe + Hammer… I actually still play this combo because I think it’s so fun.

Cause nakedness is amazing. Also, just wanted to highlight the weapons a little more, and not deal with additional attributes for every piece and junk xD I scaled the max attribute each weapon scales off of for this video so the damage output is somewhat on a balanced playing field.

Yes! There’s actually two unique weapon artifacts that are set up for exactly that. The Inferno fire staff artifact, which scales off of STR. And the Abyss great axe artifact, that scales off of Intelligence. Both are perfectly set up to do exactly what you’re asking. The sword and shield are the worst in this game. I hit level 55 without dying. I decided to use the sword and shield and dies twice.... but there is more to it. Its the worst weapon in the game period, no matter the playstyle or the shield you use. Its just poorly implemented in this game.

Raiper & Bow if you want range Raiper and FS if you wanna play mage Raiper and Spear if you wanna go full melee Raiper and Void if you want straight up best dps

@Savvvo Rapier VG is was one of the best DPS builds, since i dont follow up on patches much i am not currently sure but it is the most fun to me. And yes VG is used to buff up Rapier damage due to Rapier having the best single target damage with bleed build. VG helps with that a lot. Dungeon bosses etc. Open world yes you may need to kill packs but it doesnt matter since Rapier demolishes single target and will kill a pack almost as same speed as other weapons

I can tell that you're not a support player, you put life staff at c tier lol I"ve seen a lot of people S-tier Life staff. Also think the reason why you put the Life Staff so low because you enjoy speed running through things watching you play with the life staff I can tell you'd much rather rush rush through lol
