Thanks. What's the latest and greatest on the amulets? The amulets are what people really zeroed in on and complained about them providing "negative luck". In my experience, this also seemed to be the case.

GZ on 30k :) The question which i asking myself stands unanswered: Is it useful to maximize the luck, with food, armor, jewelery, trophies, or just go for treshold and your fine. I didnt had the feeling, that its really affects the drops.

The new players usually need to watch videos to get it because the game is cryptic about it and old player are perpetually traumatized by the constant changes or bugs that we just don't know what to believe 😂 I personally didn't even knew the thresholds... I just stack as much luck as I can

So does maxing out luck and getting the 100ish extra percent from gear,tool trophies,food etc just unlock more buckets for extra yield? Or does it further increase chance or rare drops ie. Tolvium

Extra yield only applies to things like oil and crops, yes it unlocks extra buckets on other nodes but not for yield, those buckets contain rares like tolvium

I wish there was more info on exactly what the difference between say, 20% and 40% gathering luck is. You would intuitively think it means you get the rare drop twice as often, or perhaps even 20% more often. But there seems to be no data on this anywhere.

well it is possible for you to calculate, it works on odds right, so for example if you have 40% gather luck you have 4000, so now you roll 4001-1004001, and to get say tolvium you need to roll 1001800 or higher, so it works on dice roll odds

Google for the New World Loot tables. It gives the roll values for the different buckets of items in the loot pool. From there you can work out the percentage drops based on your current luck score.

@@5HeadSurvivalGaming the problem is it doesn't seem to work, I have max possible luck in every gathering type. I even took my amulet and gathering armor to 625. I can't even count how many times I've gotten ironwood sap while in my mining set because there's ironwood trees along my mining route and I refuse to change all my gear for a couple trees. Yet I can go on a world tour of the locations I like in my full logging set with max luck, chop down 30 ironwood trees and never get a single drop of sap. At max luck we should notice the difference and every time I get a rare resource while in the wrong gear I laugh in both sadness and humor.

Thank you for this video and I understand the basics of Luck. I am 200 in all gathering skills+2000, run +2000 food, have epic Trophies +1500x3, PVP flagged +3000, each piece of gear is +500 max right with the amulet offering +980 max. So if I choose not to change my gear around, I am losing +2500 +980 for amulet or +3480 luck. How less of a chance is it really to gather a rare item without the gear luck when running +11500 luck from other sources on a 1-100,000 die roll? Is the difference just 1-111500 vs 1-114980 or just a few percentage difference? Or is that few percentage a HUGE amount, the pain in the ass it is to carry and equip armor becomes worth it for a spur of the moment hour gather run? I ask as a player with somewhat limited time to play. Thanks in advance for any reply

Gahter luck is addroll, so it becomes 11500-111500, but your correct, having all of the other stuff plus gear wont give much more than not, If you have all the trophy's and food, tool etc, I wouldn't bother with the gear also unless your target farming for example wood only, or skins only, but for just moving around hitting nodes of opportunity as you do things, not worth hauling around gear

hey! you have a confirmation of 30% luck for PVP? Because I asked recently on the forum and the developer replied-"you only get the buff ha PVP that is written in the corner of the screen when the PVP flag is turned on" previously, it was written about 30%. but now there's nothing there except 10% combat experience

I cut about 500 or so ironwood with near max luck, received 1 ironwood sap. I cut about 250 with absolutely nothing but luck on the axe and received 7...

I'm soon hitting lvl 60 for the first time and I've got confused about what gear to start farming. I read something about named items but then I saw a video about some named items not dropping anymore or something and now I have no idea what items to farm after reaching lvl 60. Also what gear should I get if I decide to play pvp instead of pve and if I get pvp gear can I do solo pve content with the pvp gear? Hope you could briefly clarify this for me!

yes, its like a dice roll, so it increases odds, and its add roll so raises base and max roll

They're on the elite chest loot table, so, yes, but, also, not enough to matter.

Yes and no. Yes the loot luck does apply to the chest. But nothing in the mutation chest loot table is relevant to loot luck. Loot luck only increases the chances of getting NAMED items, trophy upgrade components, and crafting gear items. As far as I'm aware, named items in expeditions only drop from the bosses and mini-bosses themselves, loot luck may affect the rate at which THOSE drop, but the chests themselves don't have named items or trophy materials in the loot table, so loot luck should have no effect on expedition chests.

@@5HeadSurvivalGaming I guess more specifically what I am trying to ask is, does loot luck have an impact on the randomized perks on dropped gear from chests in m10? Like for example, I’ve been equipping a loot luck set at the end of mutations to loot the codex and it just seems to net better BOE’s that I can sell. Usually I end up making more than if I were to sell the shards of the run (25k gold on Valhalla) But I’m not sure if this is just placebo.

this isn't strictly true. i have a fresh character on a new server, and i have gotten a few saps from on my road to 50 logging. the same for harvesting as well and skinning. haven't got anything other than greens though, but i have had them. granted it's not consistent or regular, but they do drop occasionally

Minor technical detail. If the loot roll is 1-100k,then 1% of luck should be 1k luck,not 100.

Rabbits foot “used to’ be the same as the meat, but they moved it to another loot bucket , that is clampmax, So now you need to roll 99800/100000 to receive one. So now they are way way harder to get, like 0.2 %, so sadly it is not a luck issue, it is a change issue making them redic rare now wich makes me sort of sad for fresh start, considering I have around 700 of them in my storage I can't give away from the old days [10:48 PM] to be a little clearer, and my math is not perfect, but max skinning luck will change the natural .2% on them to roughly .264 % ?

I notice something strange while skinning rabbits. The more luck I have the less sumptuous rabbit it will drop. Full gear, trophies and food I'm getting 1 in 10 mostly. However If I reduce the amount of luck I'm getting 1 in 4 or 5. I tested this with a friend while farming 100 rabbits his drop rate was higher than mine without much gear and trophies. Is that something that happens to you guys as well?

But who carries these gear sets, by the time you get them on a bot has already got there. You tend to move from tree to ore to fiber nodes. Your going to waste a lot of time changing gear.
